As the days get longer and warmer, spring and summer vibes are upon us so it makes total sense to bring a bit of my food culture to Lisbon. If there is one dish that I love and miss is any type of ceviche or fish crudo. So, starting this weekend and every weekend I will be doing a different crudo. The flavor equation is straight-up simple, you know me! Fresh fish, lime, chili and whatever I find in the local markets. Welcome to the 2nd episode of where chefs eat in Lisbon. A curated list by yours truly, showcasing true hidden gems and popular eateries alike. . 2, 3 & 4: Sagarmatha Momo in Anjos, by far one of the best Nepali spots in town. Every true Lisboeta from the area know that this is the real deal. Nothing else to say, absolutely fucking delicious food 🇳🇵❤️ 5: @castro_atelier_lisboa has the best pastel de nata in town if you ask me. So damn addictive! 6, 7, 8 & 9: @intemporalrestaurante in Paço de Arcos, a fine dining restaurant showcasing Portuguese produce in a very intimate, elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The setting is absolutely dreamy, but don’t take my words on this one, go see for yourself 😉 10 & 11: one of the coolest cocktail bars in Lisbon, period. No fuss, no bullshit, no hype. Great drinks, a fun and homey vibe and delicious focaccias. Liquid Love is the shit 🧨🥃 12: @corrupio.restaurante is one of those places I have visited a countless amount of times. Find me weekly at the counter eating my way throughout the entire menu, talking to the chefs and service staff. And, of course, sipping on Portuguese wine. An authentic not-so-hidden gem in Lisboa 💎 13: @bettinacorallo is a specialized chocolate shop, responsibly sourcing cacao from producing countries. It is, quite literally, heaven for any chocolate lover out there 💘🍫 14: @malbalisboa is a gourmet French cheese shop in Graça. Hand-picked fromage, wines, butter, creme fraiche and they even do killer sandwiches. I’m sold! 🧀 15: my latest discovery and crush: @pienalibreria is led by Italians. Not only a bookstore and cultural space, they also make coffee, cocktails, killer focaccia sandwiches and they sell lasagna and tiramisu from @tiramisusi.pt . Such a cozy, friendly and inviting space 🥹🫶🏽 16 & 17: @chef.alex.horbenko ‘s @thecapsule.lisbon is an upscale neo-bistro serving, BY FAR, some of the best breakfast and lunch dishes in the city. We have visited them 2 times and we were wowed to a state of spirituality. I love food and places like this have my heart. Big respect to them 👏🏾 18, 19 & 20: @broco.liz and @pils_lisboa ‘s dessert on their current winter menu. So damn good!!! 🤤

If there is someone you should trust your food choices is chefs. I spend a great deal of time -and money- on eating out, because I fucking love to eat and I love this industry and the people behind it. So here’s yet another awesome list of places where you are GUARANTEED to have great food. Chef approved, if you will 🔪 2-4: my friend @josephriosaban_ runs his own restaurant in Alcântara: @sinchi_cocina_peruana_ and, what can I say, I fucking love it. GO THERE NOW! 5,6: @patife.lisboa is a relaxed, stylish, down-to-earth and vibey pizzeria in the heart of São Bento. Needless to say, the pizzas are delicious. 7,8: @pils_lisboa has turned into a crowd’s favorite in no time. Grilled and smoked meats and veg play the main guitar of this awesome band, just as much as the banging beers and a great service team. They rock if you ask me. 9-13: @vdb_bistronomie is a classy yet chill Bistro in Alfama. Chef @rafaamsler and his team are killing it in the kitchen while the owner @clement_v.d.b is doing its thing in the dining room pouring delicious wines and charming his guests up. Pro tip: sit by the chef’s counter and watch the magic ensue while you get tipsy and get fed like a mfking king. 14: @oitavagraca is one of those places I go when I crave a strong beer with a view. The video is self-explanatory, no? Salud! 15,16: @tims.lisboa is a newly opened café with bistro vibes in between Cais and Santos. Coffee and pastry game are abso fucking lutely on point. God damn! 17-20: @vozgastrobar is perhaps one of the coziest spots we have visited in a long time. Located in the heart of Graça and boasting a stunning interior decor, the formula is simple: high quality produce prepared simply and beautifully. No fuss, no bs, no pretension. The wine selection is short and precise. Less is more seems to be their aethos and I could not agree more. What a lovely spot!

Episode number II of my series “POV: it’s your day off and you are a chef”. This time I took a little day trip to Caparica, one of my fave places ever! You know that feeling of belonging somewhere even though you have never even been there? Well, that’s how I felt the very first time I set foot there. And every time I have been back it feels the same. I feel at ease, happy, nostalgic and in peace. It’s always hard to leave but I know I will be back very soon. @guloso.cafe has won my heart and has become in one of my favorite openings in Lisboa 💜 Go pay them a visit asap, the food is delicious and the place is mega cozy. On this upcoming Saturday, 11th of April and since 6pm and onwards I will be taking over the kitchen of a true hidden gem in Estefânia: @guloso.cafe 🫶🏽 The menu will be pretty straight-forward: sandwiches with that Peruvian touch that you love 🌶️🇵🇪🧨 There’ll be 3 options, alongside wine, beers and everything in between. Oh my, this one’s gonna be bomb!!!! Save the date, babes! This upcoming Friday, April the 3rd, I’ll be taking over the kitchen of @ma.tuta 🇧🇷 The menu will be revealed in the next upcoming days but a little birdie told me I’ll be making the very first CEVICHE of the season 🤭 Cold beers, cachaça, great food and a true spirit of community is what you can expect from 6pm. @duda.meirelex and @ingobato_ will be behind the bar and I’ll be in the kitchen doing my thing.
