It was an honour and a privilege to attend the SA Indie Film Festival this year, representing @maddocpictures . Our short Gangster's Tea screened at the Labia, which recently won an award at Cannes! I got to do the mix and sound design for the film, and I'm excited for the future project we're currently working on 😁 follow them for more updates!
Film festivals give you a reality check.
You see where your work sits, you see what other people are doing, and you figure out what you want to push harder on.
Seeing Gangsters Tea on the Labia screen was an honour.
People watched it and were immensely supportive.
The conversations were the best part.
Filmmakers figuring things out in their own way, sharing what’s working and what’s not. It’s good to hear it straight from people actually doing the thing.
Thanks to @saindiefilmfest for putting our film up and creating a space that feels accessible.
If you were at the fest this year - what was your biggest takeaway?
Didn't expect sage advice from my 15 year old self for my 30th birthday. It was quite the throwback to Grade 8 shenanigans, I even attached a Trollface meme lol. I never finished that book though, but I'm still writing scripts!
