Happy race day to everyone who celebrates.
As a wildlife photographer, there were a certain set of photography skills I taught myself to take pictures of birds.
I want to capture them in the moment with a high shutter speed, locking in movement.
Last year I wanted to take those skills to my first experience at @f1 here in Austin, and lo and behold, settings for birds aren’t the same as racecars.
All of my photos were sharp, but didn’t convey movement.
I don’t have a ton of opportunities to practice racecars, but capturing moving in a vehicle flying by is important, and I’m pretty happy how this one turned out.

Some of yall probably don’t remember how you started following this account. Well, in 2014 me and a buddy started a website called Texas Brew & BBQ, and posted about all of the amazing barbecue restaurants and craft beer that could be found all over Texas. It was a great time, but eventually two things happened.
One, someone lacking any originality stole the concept and name and tried to make a tv show. By then I was at the end of energy for running the site, so I didn’t put up much of a fight.
And two. I got sober. So these days the beer is N.A., but I still enjoy a solid tray.
I recently made it to @terryblacks_bbq for an early supper, and stuffed my face with amazing food. This place has been around forever, remember the smoke “scandal” lol, but it has gotten better and better with each visit.

Had the privilege to visit Manchester, VT for a work conference, and was able to see the earliest change in foliage colors.
I came home with COVID, but I’ll always have the photos. lol. (Im better now)

Take a ferry from Portland, ME over to Peaks Island. Here you can explore the coastal countryside and spend some time on the beach.
I loved the grey skies that fell upon us walking around the rocks and shells.
