January: the month I soft-launched three meltdowns, hard-launched one new chapter, and somehow made it all look intentional - ahaha.
Let’s be real - January was rough. Confusing, draining, and full of moments where I felt like I was just trying to survive. From the outside it probably looked busy, productive, exciting… but internally, a lot was shifting.
What changed everything was choosing to stop operating from “I should be doing more” and “I need to catch up”, and instead meeting life where it actually had me. Turns out I wasn’t stuck - I was growing, just quietly.
The wins weren’t loud, but they mattered. Comparing myself to last week instead of some imagined future version? Game-changer.
Coming back to shooting after nearly two months off was both rewarding and frustrating - relearning tools, navigating updates, & testing my patience on the daily. But it reminded me of something important: nothing stays the same. We evolve, or we resist. And growth asks for patience just as much as ambition.
Choosing yourself is never the wrong decision. The slower seasons teach you the lessons the fast ones never will.
So here’s to February - new pages, softer moments, and growth in disguise.
2026, I’m ready.

A summer in the South of Germany
Part I - Überlingen
Kicking off this little Euro series where it all started - the South.
Going from Cape Town’s freezing winter to instant 30° heat and endless greenery (like… endless) was wild. One day I’m dodging rain in a hoodie, the next I’m sweating in the German countryside wondering if sunscreen actually works here. The trip there? Long. When you’re travelling on rands, you take the “budget-friendly scenic route” 😂 But once you arrive - worth every second.
Week one felt like a soft welcome into summer mode. Early morning walks through quiet streets, lakeside chill sessions, serious gelato taste-testing (Kinder Bueno + Ferrero Rocher = dangerous), and pizza the size of my ego - so big I actually took leftovers home. That’s when you know it’s real.
Evenings were golden: sunset drives through the countryside, fireworks over the lake, ferry rides, and that easy European rhythm where everyone somehow has time to just… live. Überlingen’s promenade gave a little Sea Point energy, just with medieval buildings, way more flowers, and about five times the people sipping Aperols.
It grounded me. Slowed me down. Reminded me how good life feels when you just allow it - when you walk without rushing, taste without counting, breathe without planning, and simply exist in the moment you’re in.
On to part two…

‘Sun-kissed in Cape Town’
A blend of film, fashion, and tropical paradise —put together in a magazine-style format, just for the fun of it.
This little side project was born from a spontaneous beach mission back in May that somehow turned into an impromptu shoot (as these things do lol).
Big love to Kelcy — the muse behind this project — for bringing the vision to life with such ease and energy.
So here it is: editorial energy, straight from the shoreline.
Cape Town, you summer differently. Always have.

Some moments from our Cape Town shoot - later published with @cheadsmagazine .
Shot along the coastline, this series came together through light, movement, and a shared creative vision.
Always an honour to be part of work that finds its way beyond the moment🤍

There are nights where the energy just LOCKS in.
@welcometoabracadabra & @blondish at The Ostrich was one of those - music carrying the atmosphere, lights cutting through the dark, and a crowd fully present in it together!
I wanted this reel to follow the natural flow of the night. The arrival, the build-up, the moments in between, and the pockets of chaos that make events like this feel ALIVE. Not just the DJ, but the people, the movement, and the atmosphere that holds it all together.
Some nights don’t need explaining - you just FEEL them.
And this was one of those.

Vintage frames, coastal curves, and a little chaos behind the scenes.
Shot along Chapman’s Peak with a classic Lancia, chasing that raw 70s–80s energy - imperfect, cinematic, and real.
This one’s about the moments between the shots: movement, emotion, process.
Grateful to work alongside creatives who trust the vision and let it evolve.

Fabric 2026🖤 - A party at the Castle has always been on my bucket list…
So when the invite came through, naturally I said yes without thinking twice🏰🕺Every dance floor had its own energy, its own story, its own magic — genuinely impossible to choose just one. Getting to see @marceldettmann live was easily the highlight of my night. Unreal, pure energy, start to finish.
Grateful I got to experience this - and capture it the way I felt it📸🖤

Secrets of Summer NYE 🕺
My first ever EDM festival – and I’m genuinely still in awe.
After having surgery at the beginning of December, I spent the entire month laying low just so I could be well enough for this… and every single bit of discipline was worth it! From the 10,000+ people, to the artists, the music, the energy, the production, lighting and special effects – everything was on another level.
It was an experience I’ve never had before, and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it. Even my mates were completely blown away.
So here’s a little recap and showcase of what Secrets of Summer is all about – the vibe, the scale, the energy.
Hope you feel it as much as we did.
And who knows… maybe I’ll be seeing a few familiar faces at the next one ;)

And just like that, December comes to an end… and somehow, an entire year too.
Still doesn’t fully feel real to me - I think I’m low-key still processing 2025. Anyone else?😂
December was one heck of a month. I kicked it off with an operation (surprise 🫠), which meant no ocean swims and none of the usual Capetonian summer rituals. But even with limitations, I really tried to make the most of what I could do - including dancing my way into the new year at an EDM festival with medical equipment attached to my side🤣Life is funny like that.
There’s something about December - being surrounded by friends and family more than usual - that really makes you look back. At everything that happened, everything that changed, everything you survived and grew through. Read that one again.
2025 was a lot. But we made it. And if we can get through a year like that, I truly believe we can make the next one even better 🤍
Grateful, present, and taking it one step at a time.
