Earlier this month, Sundance Film Festival announced the films that’ll be premiering at the 2025 festival, including Selena y Los Dinos, in the US Documentary Competition section. The 1997 film, Selena, was one of the first films I had ever seen on VHS, and if I didn’t have that playing at all times, my brother would have Grease rewinding to watch it the 10th time that day. It’s been an incredibly surreal experience to now be one of the producers of this documentary. The past two years have been filled with a lot of Tex-Mex, a lot of shots and dancing, road trips through Texas, swimming holes, Buc-ees, jogs on Padre Island, too many cans of Diet Coke, and a snake farm. The amount of love and respect I have for all of the Quintanillas, for director Isabel Castro, my mentors and fellow producers, Julie Goldman and Chris Clements, and for the entire team that has put their entire soul into this film is immense. I can’t wait for you to all watch. #sundance 🌹
