SEAFRONT
In every dark place exists a cute town by the sea.
When I was making this a lot of people would ask if it was Santorini, well it is Seafront from Nier which is INSPIRED by Santorini haha.
I just loved this town while playing the game because I would be running around and everything was really dark and sad and then this random happy beach town exists- you almost don’t even notice the broken bridge in the back
This painting also took me toooo long cuz I procrastinated on it a lot - it was quite the beast to tackle mostly cuz of the shape but it turned out so good!

You’ve heard about rose colors glasses… how about orange and blue colored glasses 🤯
The only colors I used here were orange blue and white ! Color theory is kinda bonkers I was surprising myself mixing half these colors hahaha. Also I think the blue glass vase is one of my most proud accomplishments

DROPLETS
Water is the foundation of life on earth but it also looks really cool on glass I guess
This was my first (and only) time etching! What a crazy process, so many chemicals lol. Also my perfectionist dumb ass literally took 30 mins to rub the ink into the plate for every replication, my patience was tested big time haha. I love love how these turned out though! Way more interesting than a simple ink drawing :)

I’m blue da ba dee da ba dieee
Still life with gouache! I hated this one while I was doing it but looking back ehhh it ain’t that bad. Turned out kinda abstract :3
Every day is a different shade of blue- let’s aim for a prettier one tomorrow!

pRints - part 1
I love citiesssss I love them so much! So the first print I ever made was of a weird cityscape- only took me 21 years to try it. Woodcut printmaking gave me so many blisters yall but I really enjoyed it even though it was frustrating. The grain of the wood would like cause the lines to turn out fucked up and then I would get mad and cut a whole section away. I’m also not very strong so I had a hard time controlling the pressure of the tools lol- but I like to think it was a journey.
Reproducing a piece almost exactly with little effort was quite cool too. I tried allll these colors and was surprised every time.
This poor block of plywood went through absolute hell with all the color experiments I did on it but some cool stuff was made in the process!

FAMILIARITY
This bright ass red couch and chair combo has been in every house I’ve lived in that I can remember. They are always paired together and are beautiful but we never sit in them cuz it’s not the main living room- lol.
They also do that thing where the fabric changes texture when you rub it- so I remember rubbing designs into them when I was a kid. But honestly these are kinda an art installation in my family home. And when I was homesick in college I missed walking by them every day and never sitting in them. So I painted them!!
Fun fact: this painting is now framed and hanging on the wall of this very room :)

SO this piece is made entirely out of ripped paper. No pencils no charcoal no nothing - drawing with… paper
I was so mad like the process of doing this made me so mad- it was so tedious. No pieces were ever the right shape or they glue would stick to me or the paper would shift or something was too dark or too light. But then… it started working! And it ended up turning out pretty cool! Trying a new medium makes you learn over again how important it is to just trust the process.
My teacher said it was comical because the skull isn’t noticeable until you look closer- then it appears out of nowhere like a funny jumpscare.
Will I be using this medium ever again… probably not. Am I proud of this piece? Absolutely! Staring at the finished product with my hands covered in clue and the floor around me covered in little pieces of ripped paper was very very rewarding.

This was my introduction to oil painting!!! I thought I was gonna hate it cuz oil paint takes so long to dry- but I ended up loving the texture and being able to alter things so easily weeks after starting lol
This painting is a monochrome master copy of Landscape by Jean Metzinger- replicated it using black blue and white paint :) love the shapes and composition of the original so I really enjoyed replicating it.

MEMENTOS pt 2
What happens if everyone is manually engineered not to suffer anymore?
This. Apperantly lol
As soon as I saw this design I knew I wanted to paint it. Took forever but was so fun and turned out exactly how I wanted it to :)

MEMENTOS - pt 1
The collective corrupt conscious of society
Persona 5 is truly the perfect combo of deep and dumb and I love it so much there is really nothing like it. The design of mementos was the coolest thing ever to me- how it’s based off a train subway system because everyone in the city leaves part of themselves there and whatnot. I also love how it gets creepier and creepier the deeper you go. Cropped a pic and replicated it with gouache on paper- surprisingly therapeutic!
