“SOJOURN” by Maarten Goji about a year ago @martin_gohary reached out with a project he had been working on for some time. after laying down foundation with @tommyfouts in 2022, he enlisted @_adamhadari in 2024 to help him polish up the project and finally pulled in @gabriela_riley to bring two of the tracks to life. I was beyond excited (and had mad fun) helping bring it all together and shouout to @bijanmakesnoyz for finessing the mastering. pulsing through Disco, House, UK garage and Downtempo the project paints a soft ending to the summer time heat. thanks for trusting me and letting me be a part of your process. mucha lucha. mucha lucha. shooting docs / editorials again. regresando a mis documentales / editoriales film is expensive. need to figure out how to cover these expenses but tired of pushing things back "waiting" for the right time. some of these are more focused on immigration and others more on food and local culture. going to be looking into intl grants (también subsidios locales) and just take things into my own hand at this point. if you got any leads, I'd appreciate if you send them my way. if you been waiting on old negatives... they're otw.

. most folks aren’t great at communicating bounderies or expectations . some choose not to do it, for comfort i’d assume . a lot of this year felt like natural expansion; a gentle planting of seeds . in elementary school we’d have to line up and distance ourselves about an arms length apart from each other. i’d spend hours tapping, pressing, squeezing and pulling at the opposite shoulder trying to balance myself out. if you’ve been around me long enough, you might’ve seen me seen me doing something similar after I dap someone up or get a random hug. maybe you notice me turning around at some event so the sound pressure evens out between my two ears . need some folk to help with accountability when it comes to working out and my daily practices . recently, over the course of three weeks, i found out six people i knew had passed. five were taken and one took the path themselves. they were all my age or younger. one lost a dragonball manga he’d borrowed from me in hs. one I’d see drunk at parties ; he wouldn’t stop mentioning how he loved my beat tape. another stole my Yu-Gi-Oh deck in middle school. one sold candy bars out his bag at school . C was my family’s family. i didn’t really like going out but peer pressure was a thing. as soon as i’d get to the spot, my anxiety would go wild. most of the time i did my best to regulate. C was one of the folk who’d help. she stopped folks from picking on me for keeping to myself . freshman year in uni i would’ve quit music if it weren’t for Z. overwhelmed with the idea of studying some’ i knew nothing about; in a place where i knew not one soul, i couldn’t imagine trying to juggle music and writing on top of that. Z giggled and told me it would be a waste. said it needed work but what was there, was good. I wasn’t sure and they told me to read it to them. Z laughed and said it was even better. that there was a rhythm in my words and I just needed to find away to translate it to paper . not sure if I’ll keep this up but i’ve learned a lot this year. lessons on grief, family, love, limits, goals and letting go. thank you to both paths crossed and walked

EN and it's out! with the release of Tenis Mojados, Sitko's Sad Boys Club is fully out for world to enjoy. appreciate everyone who lent us their ears throughout the process and everyone who gave a helping hand. this project originally started immediately after Sitko's first was released. He had mentioned,in passing, that he wsnted to start these differently a few days later I sent him the core drum sound of what would become the title track. it's crazy how the process for these joints ended up so detached from the first and I'm honestly looking forward to the evolution on the next ones - we've been working on a stack of them 😌 -- ES ¡Y está fuera!
