NYFW Fall Collection
Look 10 🇵🇸
Model: Nina Polk
Handmade Corn Husk Mask
Ermine Earrings
Bleeding Heart White Shirt
Keffiyah Skirt
My collection is a series of garments inspired by the different everyday worn items of revolutionary periods. It represents the overlapping histories and present of using fashion, clothing and symbols to reflect and comment on oppressive systems and governments.
Every model wore a corn husk face covering that represents a multitude of reasons. Protecting one’s identity. Being able to see yourself in the garments. Corn Husk dolls are made faceless so that the child playing with them can reflect their own personality and story onto them. I created a mask to embody this tradition so everyone can see themselves within these pieces.

I started off through teenage rebellion. This look is inspired by Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill. I wanted to do a take on the rebellion of being a young woman in school. The challenges that come with and how you learn to protect yourself.

INYFW 🌟
My Ake’nisténha (Mom), Rake’níha (Dad) and Aksótha (Grandma) came to NYC for INYFW.
My parents agreed to model for my show and they came out to bow with me at the end 💖
It was my grandmas first time in NYC despite being born in NY state. I put her to work right away to do some sewing and glueing backstage right up until showtime.
So happy to have my family support me. I’ve always been a lil fashion weirdo and they’ve dealt with all my phases of sparkly jackets to fingerless gloves to cosplay to hella femme and hella masc. This is just the beginning and let’s continue to be freaks 🎉

INYFW 🌟
WE DID IT!
Senior Art Director. Model Coordinator. Fashion Designer. Model. Store Manager. Too many titles and roles to name.
I’m still coming back to life from giving my whole soul and body into putting on this spectacular event last week. It was so surreal to start having everyone come through and actually seeing it all be put together.
Still don’t have all my feelings and thoughts together about it all but hearing the response has been great. That we made history. That we did it despite all the barriers. That we did it for our future generations.
I’m so proud of everyone and thank you all for your patience, understanding and flexibility for our team.
This is just the beginning 💖
