Are you a player that walks into games emotionally and mentally unprepared⦠then spend the first 20 minutes trying to find yourself ?
If so, you are lacking Intention. Intention is a powerful force that when practiced can make a huge difference for young players.
Being intentional for a young player is about deciding who you are going to be before the game starts, instead of letting the game decide for you.
Itās walking onto the pitch with purpose, focus, and identity.
Does intention guarantee performance? Absolutely not!! Football will always ask different questions of youā¦
But, intention stops you arriving empty.
It gives the mind direction.
It gives the body a signal.
It sets the tone internally before the environment starts trying to set one for you.

šØNot long now until we open up applicants for our game changing program - standards into superpowers.
If you are a ā½ļøplayer or a parent of a young player who wants to build their inner gameš§ keep an eye on our posts & stories over the next few weeks š
Working on low-level plyometrics and quick changes of direction with Archie last week.
What I love most about this is when a young athlete notices whatās happening in their own body. When they develop that level of self-awareness, recognising what felt right, what didnāt, and how to adjust, their growth becomes unlimited.
In the first set, Archie pointed out something that was spot on: his ground contact time was too long. His foot went flat, his ankle collapsed slightly and he had more knee bend than he needed. The result - slower, less reactive movement.
On the next set, he corrected everything by focusing on one simple thing ⦠his feet.š¦¶
He stayed on the ball of his feet, reduced ground contact time, and allowed his foot to do what itās built to do - absorb and redirect force through the stretch-shortening cycle and natural elastic recoil. The result .. well you can see for yourself š.
When an athlete puts attention into their feet, unnecessary knee flexion disappears, the body stays more relaxed and movement becomes more efficient and explosive.
And for context , the research shows that for a movement to truly be considered plyometric, ground contact time should be under 0.5 seconds. Thatās exactly the quality weāre building here.
Self-awareness + good mechanics = unstoppable development. š
Every single one of us has created an identity for ourselves, most of the time without even realising it.
That identity holds the rules we live by:
How we act.
How we think.
How we react.
What we do.
How we do it.
They also house:
Our habits.
Our standards.
Our boundaries.
Butā¦ā¦ identity is not fixed.
We can choose it.
We can design it.
We can step into it.. deliberately!!
You can decide how you want to think.
You can decide how you want to act.
You can create new habits, new standards that give power to this new version.
We knew how to do this as kidsā¦
Remember when you put on the superhero outfit?
Time stopped⦠You were in the moment , you werenāt pretendingā¦. You werenāt āacting likeā Superman or Hulk.
You were them.
That was imagination, one of the greatest gifs weāve ever been given.
But somewhere along the way, we stopped playing⦠We accepted the story we were told.
We accepted the identity we were handed or that we unconsciously created off the back of negative experiences in the past and decided
āThis is who I am. These are my limits.ā
That belief keeps you stuck. That belief keeps you a prisoner.
The reality is, you can become whoever you choose, whenever you choose.
You can create new identities that match / align with the future outcomes you desire or the performance you dream of.
This is one the secrets to high performance.
This is the secret to confidence, resilience, strength, and courage.
And this is the work we are doing with athletes right now, helping them step into new identities, overcome setbacks and anxiety, and rise into the highest version of themselves.
If youāre ready to create that identity, one that takes you higher than youāve ever been, we are looking for 5 motivated & serious candidates to work with me over the next 3 months to lockš this in š§ and change the game.
send me a DM with the word IDENTITY!
Quickness lives in the nervous system.
And the nervous system is shaped by many layers: physical, mental, emotional, environmental.
We train all of them .. and by doing so you can defy the odds - move beyond the norm and develop differently to the rest.
Stay Connected š
Connected - always ahead of the curveš„
Priming - wiring - moulding - the brain - body as one holistic unit š
Developing young athletes to become ādifferentā so that they can defy the odds and become their very best.

Everyone wants more speed, explosiveness, and agility⦠but few realise what truly underpins these qualities.
Itās not just about working hard itās about working smart.
Anyone can make a kid sweat, squat, run through ladders, cones or jump on a box and call it training! But if mechanics are not understood - dysfunction can be hardwired into their nervous system and that never ends well.
Real performance starts with the details most overlook:
ā Training the foot as the foundation of movement
ā Building proper mechanics and movement patterns
ā Training the nervous system to move and perform at higher levels.
This is exactly what Joseph has been working on over the last 6 months and in that time he has completely transformed his movement ability. Now .. Heās not the same as before ā¦. heās different, heās still Joseph, but the 2.0 version. The 3.0 version ⦠?? Watch this space.

Building different, from the ground upš„
Shout out to grandads homemade scooter ramp that done the job whilst our new slant boards are being deliveredš¤£š
Over the past couple of months, Dan and I locked in š
The training became more focused, consistent and more disciplined than ever. The goal was get him in peak physical condition to compete in a tough stretch of elite-level competitions spanning over a few weeks.
Alongside the physical prep, we also had regular mindset sessions. We faced real fears head-on. We didnāt ignore doubts or try to push them away. We used them to our advantage. That emotional energy was redirected to build a performance identity that Dan could step into and become whilst having the right mental tools to use come race day.
The outcome? Massive.
British Championships (13/14 age group) ⢠PBs in 2 events ⢠Ranked #1 13-year-old male in the 400IM ⢠3km Open Water: National Champion š„
Then came Swim England Nationals ⢠10 races, 8 PBs ⢠1500m Freestyle Champion š„ (huge PB) ⢠200m Butterfly ā Bronze š„
This is what happens when the physical and mental work align. When mindset isnāt overlooked, but part of the build from day one. Thatās how you separate yourself, tap into higher levels of potential and grow differently⦠from the inside out.
Proud of you, Dan. Big things aheadš
@sandraandstu1
You might see a single leg hop - on & off a box?
What I see is the heel never touching the floor, good fascial recoil, good ankle/Achilles stiffness, improved foot and ankle mechanics, efficient force transfer, greater movement efficiency with less muscular effort and above average proprioception and coordination for his age.
Itās not about what you do - itās about why you do it (purpose)
Itās not about what you do - itās about how you do it.
Built differentš
Today is already a special day ! I opened a package that contained a retro Argentinian football shirt š but even more special - a handwritten card from a young lad that Iāve been coaching online for the last few months. This lad has been going through a really tough period which has been causing a lot of emotional pain, confusion and upset leaving him feeling lost and fearing the future.
It was clear for me that his young nervous system was totally overwhelmed and dis - regulated, so we used some powerful processes and techniques to neutralise a lot of the suppressed emotion / trauma that he had been carrying in his body. It was an emotional process with a lot of tears, but when I asked at the end of our last session how he felt he replied - āI feel more freeā š„¹.
This is it !!! And this is what so many newly formed insta performance / mindset gurus miss! Motivation only takes you so far ⦠yes we can develop and cultivate a new mentality to align with where we want to be (thatās important) but we must be able to have the tools and know-how to understand our clients on a deeper, emotional level. Once we can help them to overcome what is truly holding them back- improved clarity, health, freedom, confidence, enthusiasm and inner trust begins to flourish. Nothing significant can be built on top of a body and mind stuck in stress.
Itās little moments like this that reminds me of why I do, what I do. 17 years in the health and human performance world - these moments never get oldā¤ļø
Onwards and upwards my boy (you know who you areš„)
I bought my first pair of barefoot five finger shoes back around 2010/2011
I walked into the gym and everyone laughed.
I walked down the street - people laughed again.
But even then, I knew my feet needed to be more free.
I didnāt have the knowledge or education I have now, but I knew intuitively that my toes needed to spread and my feet needed to feel the ground.
Even training the āconventionalā way as I did back then- it felt better.
Fast forward to now - myself and most of my young athletes train barefoot.
The more I learn about fascia,
The more I learn from experts like Dr Chong,
The clearer it becomes:
š§ You canāt ignore your feet.
ā” You canāt ignore your fascia.
Itās vital to performance, injury prevention, health and movement.
So why are you still ignoring it?
Itās time to evolve and move beyond outdated paradigms ..
To be different you have to train differentš
