We know that safety in nightlife isn’t just about a secret code - it’s about creating environments where harassment and predatory behaviour aren’t tolerated in the first place.
While Ask for Angela is a useful harm - reduction tool, real change happens when venues commit to proper staff training, clear anti-harassment policies, and truly inclusive spaces.
This tool is a valuable harm-reduction measure, yet we understand the critique: it’s a stopgap, not a substitute for systemic change. Let’s celebrate Ask for Angela while also demanding the accountability and cultural shifts our communities deserve.
