I had a pretty different start to my day this morning. Thanks to @jig_visuals I got the chance to speak to @drewuniversity communications students about starting @nyotamagazine and more. It was exciting to look back on this journey and remember all the amazing lessons along the way. At times working on NYOTA can be extremely frustrating but then I have moments where I have to remind myself that I’m doing all of the things I’ve always wanted to. Apologies in advance for the lengthy caption.
Slide 3 - after I discovered I loved photography I made it my mission to shoot everything. I would accompany Niara to fashion week and shoot street style hoping to get noticed. I also had the opportunity to work with the company See Me and have my work shown on a Times Square billboard. Oh to be an ambitious teenager again.
Slide 4 - my love for @teenvogue photoshoots and @localwolves coupled with my annoyance of not being a professional photographer at 16 led to me having the idea for NYOTA. Hey…every magazine needs professional photoshoots right?
Slide 5 - spent the entire summer shooting photos and planning. Having my photo shown on a clothing brands instagram made me believe I was on the right track.

Had the most incredible time in Kenya celebrating Nikita & Rohan, going on safari, and killing all the bugs Vero was too scared to. Major congrats to my girl @nikitadarbar as she embarks on this beautiful next chapter 🎉
One moment you’re 16 and you have the idea to start a magazine and then the next moment you’re 26 and you green light a magazine cover entirely made of cookies. What is life?
