It’s taken 30 something years, but here we are in the show ring.
If you know me, you know horses have always been a passion of mine yet life had got in the way.
Back in January I had a nasty fall off my horse resulting in a pelvis injury. It came time to try get back in the saddle and the anxiety overcame me to the point I was physically ill. How could something I love so much, make me feel like this?
With the help of Tui Teka, we worked through my barriers from the ground up - horsemanship where we could understand one another through our energy and body language breaking away from the emotional and physical trauma. Then the help from Tara came along, with her horse Luca. Her positivity, encouragement and guidance helped me build that confidence up back in the saddle all while Luca being a true gentleman.
I truly couldn’t have gotten this far without all the support around me from certain friend’s and of course my husband.
We made a goal to enter the dressage show ring, I pushed myself and it was all worth it.
Sunday we made our way to PPC and I completed two tests. The first test gaining 5th place and the second test 4th place, coming home with a rosette! What a bonus. There is still so much to work on but I’ve never been more proud of myself. It’s never too late to follow those dreams 💚
Snow trip ☃️❄️
We packed the car and headed to Mt Ruapehu for the weekend! With Turoa closed we made our way to Whakapapa. Fresh dumping of snow made for the perfect first experience for the kids who also gave skiing a go! ⛷️
Big thanks to my aunt for housing us! We already can’t wait to head back 🥰
Absolutely buzzing with today’s session with Alaska and Tui! From never seeing a beanbag to sitting that gorgeous bay booty on it.
The horsemanship, skill, knowledge and ability to teach others is really incredible. Still can’t believe it! 👌🏽
