Although I beg to differ, Sol believed his surfing wasn’t up to scratch on our short trip to Mexico… but he never fails to amaze me. This video is the brutal reality of when your gf either misses your waves or decides to sunbathe instead of film… 😂😭here are some fun close outs, funky turns and gorgeous Mexican scenery from our short trip in Jan/Feb 🌞 my first rusty surf edit! 🥴🥳

Holly Water Cabin 🌿 This is a short film of the beautiful escape Sol and I had back in May. I wanted to capture the sheer tranquility and peace this place has to offer. Although we went for celebrations and a break, the cabin and its beauty was calling to be captured! It was more than just a countryside break for us - it was about down time, quieting the mind, reset, reconnecting with nature, with Sol. I can still hear the sound of the stream, the trees whispering with the gentle wind and the bird songs and the smell of the earth here still lingers in my nose. Thank you for one of the most memorable weekends of my life.

CHOPPED - a mini documentary. This documentary is something very special to me because it wasn’t just something I curated for university, it was a piece of art I only dreamed of making. I didn’t ever think it would come together and be something I’m really proud of. I wouldn’t have been able to do it either without Stephen: the protagonist of this documentary; the inspiration. Stephen not only got on board with me to create this, but he has pushed me out of my comfort zone to propel forwards in life and make dreams come true! For that, he is such an inspiration to me and his attitude in life will only inspire you too. So, thank you Stephen! #short #minidoc

On entering the @ladiesbathroomevents event, I found myself in the comforting company of feminine magic. Something I only dream about had wriggled into existence. Between hugs of rosy glows and starlit tables, precious whispers of ancient priestesses floated through the place . Hypnotic, holding the gazes of keen listeners, they spoke their individual wisdoms of life right into our ears and eyes. Thank you for not only hosting a space for magic to escape but for being the gentle support others need. Thank you for pushing past the challenges and sharing your art with the world … we need it! It reminds us who we are and inspires us to share our own magic too. That night was more ethereal than I could ever describe.. to more! ✨

love letter to my best friend ~ How beautiful and sad it is to witness such a magic woman live courageously and fully and authentically without a single idea how truly magic she is. To the roaring inspiration in my life, you show me how to live wildly and dream like; you show me how to feel it all and continue in this life with resilience and strength and juicy memory. With your fiery soul and sharpened serpentine sword, you charge forward in this life, untouchable. Remember that. It is an honour to explore this life with you in it, to witness your art vomit into existence haha and often I cannot believe that we are both on a twinkling wave of adventure together, still connected and rooted, juicily of course since babies. Always. Stay smiling, crying, dancing, laughing. I’m here for it all! ✨

‘Letting Out The Slack’ gave me a humming in my heart. Whether you want to believe it or not, Isaac and Leila’s collaborative installation did in fact work its meditative magic. I believe that magic, and all its answers lie right in front of you. It’s purely up to you whether to actively choose to look for it and be open to it. For me (and most probably for you), art is where magic begins. You enter Isaac’s new interactive gallery @stickfiguregallery and you are immediately consumed by and a part of the art itself. You are here, alongside other inquisitive individuals and instantly there is something ethereal about the communities within and around art: why are we all here? “Well I guess I like ? Art?” Or “I’m here supporting a friend” Either way we have come to have our minds challenged by and absorbed into a portal of someone else’s expression. So, when I ‘let out the slack’ on coming to this installation, I surrendered to art, let go of any control and beliefs (which allowed me to believe in trusting my own minds answers - what could I take from this today?). Entering a blackout room riddled with yellow glows, a humming in my heart began, others felt it too - and WOW it wriggled out any stiffness in my bones, dispersing any grips on old beliefs. My love for dub music and heavy bass expanded this day when I found out the humming was in fact a snippet of bass dubbed and elongated (oh how the minds behind art collaborations make my soul sing!). And being an extremely amateur twitched in my free time I was excited to immerse myself in the Golden Oriole song - which did in fact absorb all angst and stress from the day. Not to mention meeting the gallery’s material scent with a debatable cheesy smell on first entrance which transformed into a caramelised tiramisu scent once I had left the meditative room… surely you cannot disagree that art changes our bodily programming? 😂 What I learnt this day was that my taste in music is a perfect form of meditation 🤩 and letting go of control helps you move forward with yourself and your growth and resets your mindset. Also, that there are passionate young people moving art to the forefront and connecting people ..

As I get older, the more I realise the importance of art within our system… Newquay is on its way. Thanks to Alma: two incredibly gentle and vibrant women, artist, creatrix, mothers. Lucy and Ingrid have produced a space where local art can not only be witnessed and absorbed into the body, but also purchased to those touched so deeply by the art they cannot live without it in their personal homes. The space is intimate yet open. You are hugged by the secrets of the artists soul whispers, yet given enough room and space to digest and breathe it all in. A perfect community hub too. The opening night to this beautiful new gallery proved the rise of arts importance and reflected the astonishing art community within Newquay and that there is hope for art in this world! Providing space for personal expression, so unique to the next, is an untouchable force! Thank you Alma 🌀✨ Cailin x

After a week of intense heat for Newquay, obviously ‘Go Skate Day’ combined with the summer solstice had to present itself with a thunderstorm. It was a laughable and ironic moment. It simply tested the patience of skaters and their ability to humour at life’s ironies. But, with buzzing community spirit, sun manifested, broke through the showers and dried out the playing field for newquay’s finest board wizards. And wizardry is what they possess. To me, skating is one of life’s demonstrations of magic. To witness so many heads manoeuvre at a multitude of speeds, all focusing on a personal end goal, crash and crash and crash and get up repeatedly with a smile on their face exudes power and resilience. Adding incredible sponsors and prizes only amplified their bravery and bore witness to inspiring community, big and small businesses, and people who were so proud of themselves and others. ‘Every time I skate, I surpass what I believed myself capable of’ was a sentiment written on the collaborative art piece we had created for everyone to write why they loved skateboarding. I nod in affirmation and this quote alone was encapsulated in the euphoric shock on faces, in the many roars of encouragement, in the sparkling eyes of awe on the sidelines, in the noise of the pops, clicks and grinds of the wheels carrying dedicated heads and hearts; it was encapsulated in the many photos taken from the many artistic eyes and it was encapsulated in all of those who exited their comfort zone that day. Whether you skated or not, skating showed us particularly on this day that when you focus on yourself with tunnel vision, resilience and determination, you can achieve magical things. ✨🤝🛹 *continued in the comments*

Wisdom from across the world Twittering like birds, @phoebe_charlotte22 and I had been discussing this surf spot for a good 20 minutes. Back and fourth exchanging nerves and excitement about whether or not we would be able to cope, undermining our ability of strength in, and knowledge of the water as well as stressing about not being confident or deserving enough in the line up : worries within surf culture. And being two Cornish women, who are so connected to the sea as it is, it had been an ongoing obstacle for years that we just needed to get over. This was moments before stumbling across a quiet @rashmika_shehan_ @chutys_surf_school_mirissa in a hammock watching the waves. From then on, we had the pleasure of witnessing this Sri Lankan wave sorcerer, patient and humble, dance with the sea - a conduit to the magic realm of ocean to mind ! We were also witnessed ourselves, of our very limiting beliefs and thanks to Chutey, we slowly gained the confidence we so desperately seeked. He taught us how to quieten our mind and control our energy within the water and we sure had some of the best waves of our lives once we had surrendered to the sea! The community in Mirissa is cozy and gentle and like that of Cornwall, which was a good asset for a traveller with strong roots to my home. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people of Mirissa and watching Chuteys surf school be a hub for many whether you surfed or not. So, thank you Chutey and see you again!

Leila within and around Hebaska. To meet Leila was such an inspiring encounter. Effortless grace and style and mystery! There are many people I wish to talk for more hours than I’m blessed with and Leila is one of them. Sitting at Fly Cellars, on the edge of the north coast, coffee and letting ideas and chat dwindle into the atmosphere between us, gentle offshore winds whirring up Leila’s installation and watching the magic happen, was a dream! Not to mention the live violinist playing within Habaska (on her birthday too!!) - watching multiple arts come together like this was something else. Thanks to the beautiful duo behind @almaartspace who offered up this opportunity to help out with their incredibly beautiful weekend of art in and around Newquay - it is incredible to witness Newquay like this. 💫💫💫💫

BTS with @charlotte_winifred_guerard for her recent project and exhibition of ‘Matthews Boat’ So grateful for the opportunity to assist this project, learn how to push creative boundaries, persevere and adapt from the artists and explore my creativity behind the lens. After a week of empowerment down here in Cornwall, it must me said that Charlotte is a female inspiration: one who has inspired me to challenge personal artistic limits as well as being just a genuine down to earth and funny human! Thank you for empowering me. If you’re London bound, be sure to check out the exhibition!
