We made the layout posing with Émilie Damiens , who supervised layout and animation.
Here’s my little contribution for the animation.

I found an old step by step walking animation that I made around 2013 I think.
It was for a lingerie brand.
I adjusted the spacings and line thickness at each step.

Simple body mechanics movements.
Nothing complicated here but the main thing was to focus on the most natural way to link actions together.

I really enjoyed animating Amélie, but also the relationship between Amélie and Nishio San.
Her feelings and her sense of wonder constantly remind me of the importance of finding joy in life’s simple things.
I animated sometimes with the line and sometimes directly in color when there weren’t any major changes in perspective or amplitude and to reuse the layout posing drawings as much as possible.
This also allowed me to control the overlay and underlay elements.
