living in Mexico i was a bit different with my music taste because there were no places playing euro dance, and house music, just a Saturday night station every 2 weeks at midnight. so at 11 i was trying to stay up for this. then my dad (lover of music & frequent concert goer) intercepted Deutsche Welle tv in the 90s, and my sisters & I fell in love with German techno. Long story short, I’m raving I’m raving since then. When I decided to pursue this dream of playing music in front of more than myself I decided that my heart has to lead the journey because i love this music and ultimately it is about the new artists I play, the old tracks I keep discovering, the combination of genres that make sense to me, and my experience of living in different countries. Last weekend I achieved a little dream, to be on the other side of the stage in a festival and select a few tracks to set the mood at midnight. Thank you to everyone that contributed to making these dreams come true and to everyone that has supported me in these various stages. This Saturday, October 11, I’ll be back at Dvoristance — a place that’s meant a lot to me over the past few years 🌵😊 The first time I played here, I was just 3 months into DJ’ing and still figuring it all out 😅 Nearly 3 years later, it’s really special to return to where so much of this journey began. That first set was a mix of everything I loved — different genres, new music and old — and I’ve kept that tradition going every time since. I’ll be doing the same this weekend (even playing some genres i haven’t mixed together yet😀😅) Also, I’ll start my bday celebration, so it feels extra meaningful to celebrate it doing something I love. Since I can remember my tradition of staying up late listening to music by myself has been there, not able to get enough of it, repeating parts of songs I love for days, sharing the songs that make me feel stuff (good or bad 😅) to everyone that will listen to my long rants about a song. This place I went to has it all and since I was a kid I wanted to come here for the history of music. When @victorhugomusic.co asked me to open for him here, I cried. I even cried before I played. Cried because of what it means to my sleepless pre-teen self & to my present self that plays music in the places that will have me. Life takes and gives but sharing your dreams with family and friends is what life is about. Thank you to everyone that has ever let me play the music I have on my devises because you make me happy. Back then listening to my CDs never would I had imagined I would play music here and the icing is that I shared this with my daughter and my sister @novakovicolja 😭🎶🇪🇸🌴🌊💕
