ā€œAs long as you keep, your head to the sky – you can WINā€ šŸŽ¶āœØ The last few months leading into the new year felt like things were falling apart while simultaneously coming together. I remember praying for growth and expansion only to feel perplexed and somewhat frustrated when faced with increased difficulties. Little did I know, these challenges were part of God’s pruning process, preparing me for the blessings ahead by shedding old habits and beliefs. I’m grateful for this season of perseverance and faith because without it, I wouldn’t be walking into the harvest from the intentional work I’ve been pouring into self. I’m happy to share some answered prayers from this year so far : •I stepped into the new year promoted to U.S. Digital Communications Lead, after praying for career expansion. •Despite experiencing an auto theft (long storyšŸ™ƒ), I was able to buy my dream car a year earlier than planned, a result of the discipline I prayed for. •I was honored to be selected to moderate a fireside chat with a remarkable Global Health Leader on the future of sustainability in healthcare, an experience received after praying for opportunities to use my voice to make an impact. So much more to share, but for now, forever mind blown and grateful for God’s perfect timingĀ šŸ„¹šŸ™šŸ¾

Still on a high from witnessing history this week! 🄹 On February 3rd, I stood in the Georgia State Capitol as Rep. Soo Hong introduced a resolution officially marking Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) Awareness Day in Georgia. Six years ago, I was bedridden, just learning about this condition with barely any resources. I never imagined we’d be here—watching it discussed on the House floor, in front of people with the power to help drive real change for the thousands suffering from TSW. I’m beyond grateful to have crossed paths with @kellybarta and @itsan.nonprofit , whose tireless advocacy and leadership is moving the needle in getting TSW the medical support and recognition it desperately needs. All credit to her and her team for getting this work done. #TSW has over a billion views on TikTok, yet there is still a major gap in adequate care.On a brighter note though, we locked in follow-up meetings with legislators to discuss next steps and how to keep the momentum going. Change is certainly here! šŸ™ŒšŸ¾ #TSWAwareness #TSWAdvocate ***TSW is a result of the use of topical or oral steroids often prescribed to treat conditions like eczema and psoriasis. The power of ā€œyesā€ ✨ My storytelling journey started with one simple yes to my first @mothstories event. I didn’t know what to expect, but after that first night attending, I fell in love with the entire experience. By my second show, I took the stage on a whim, won a StorySlam, and earned a spot in the Moth Grand Slam at Center Stage Atlanta. Standing on Center Stage in front of a sold-out crowd of 800+ people, where I once watched artists like J. Cole get their start, still feels surreal. I was SO nervous backstage, but the moment I stepped under the lights, I felt calm and grounded, like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Though I didn’t win the Grand Slam, making it there as someone new to storytelling and sharing the stage with storytellers I admire felt like a win all on its own. That moment opened the door to storytelling with @atlantastorytellers Songs that Shape Us event at @eddiesattic and @eldonosmith ’s Tales & Ale show in Augusta, where I shared pieces of my journey with the audience in ways that felt cathartic and freeing. 2025 had its challenges, but finding storytelling and this community was one of the silver linings. Here’s to more stories in ’26 and to continuing to say yes to new adventures šŸ’›

Something transcendent happened on stage at @eddiesattic on October 21st. Storyteller Bianca Anderson stood in the spotlight and told a story about love, loss, and the long road toward healing. Her story was about her sister, Destiny, whose favorite song was ā€œAscensionā€ by jheneaiko When Bianca spoke, the room grew completely still. She told us how that song, once a shared joy between sisters, became unbearable after Destiny’s death… But, eventually, became a path toward healing and hope. Because grief, as she reminded us, is heavy, but it can also become something beautiful when we give it meaning. For Bianca, ā€œAscensionā€ became more than a song, it became a bridge back to her sister through her niece, Lani. A way to celebrate Destiny’s life, to keep her love alive, and to pass that love forward. See Bianca’s full story and our The Tabernacle Collective’s performance of ā€œAscensionā€ on our YouTube channel. A few months ago, I entered a Moth StorySLAM for the first time… and I won. The Moth is a live storytelling event — no notes, no props, just you and the mic sharing a true story from your life. I signed up on a whim, without preparation, with no idea what would come from it… and truthfully, I almost didn’t do it because it felt too soon. But something about it felt right. Not long after, I found an old box of childhood memories — awards for writing, speeches, and public speaking. Then it hit me… this has always been my gift. I just forgot. Life, hustle, and survival made me lose sight of it. But they say when you feel lost, look back at what lit you up as a kid. The clues to your purpose are usually right there. And that one yes led me to fall in love with storytelling again… and now I’m competing in the GrandSLAM — where all the StorySLAM winners come together to compete for the title of GrandSlam champion. Some wait years for this opportunity, & I’m grateful to God that it found me in just a few months. This is bigger than a competition. It’s a full-circle moment. A reminder that what’s meant for you will always find its way back. Tomorrow, I step on stage at Center Stage Atlanta. Nervous. Grateful. Walking in my gift. For anyone in ATL who wants to check it out, tickets are still on sale. Link’s in my bio.

Eczema Awareness Month came to a close yesterday , but I couldn’t let the month end without speaking up to remind anyone who needs it that they aren’t alone. Living with eczema brings constant uncertainty—always wondering when the next flare-up will occur, what might have triggered it, and navigating a healthcare system that often overlooks the needs of Black and Brown skin. The hyperpigmentation, inflamed patches of skin, and the self-consciousness of trying to cover up flares from the public eye are just a few of the challenges I and many others face while managing the ups and downs of eczema. Everyone with this condition deserves to feel seen, supported, and truly understood, and that is my continued hope for myself and all who are navigating this journey. Last year, I was fortunate to join the Coalition of Skin Diseases to advocate for better support & resources for the eczema community, and I share a little about my story and thoughts on how we can move towards change in this video. You can watch the full video on the Coalition of Skin Diseases YouTube channel - it’s a moving and empowering production. āœØšŸ’™ #eczemaondisplay #eczemaawarenessmonth

Exciting News!🄳 I am thrilled to finally share that I have been recognized as a 2024 Healthcare Business Women’s Association Rising Star 🌟 Rising Stars are nominated by their company for exemplary leadership and contributing significantly to their organization, and are advocates for equity in healthcare and for women. As a black woman living with a chronic skin condition, this recognition enables me to bring a unique perspective to the table and contribute to positive change in healthcare. I am grateful for this journey and excited to continue breaking barriers, inspiring others, and shaping an inclusive future. Little Bianca is so proud 🄺 #HBAWOTY24

Finally getting around to my @nationaleczema #eczemaexpo2023 recap and WOW, what a time we had! We let our emotions flow through dance, laughter, and tears and held space for one another to let go and be our most vulnerable self. This was my second year attending Expo and first as a NEA ambassador and I’m in awe of how each year it only gets bigger & better. The energy this conference exudes is magical ✨ To be truly SEEN is an infinite feeling I cannot describe. One of my biggest takeaways from Expo this year is that healing with eczema is more than working on outward appearance. It’s also addressing traumas, accepting self, learning and unlearning, and knowing the power of mindset and well-being. It’s understanding the importance of community and that you don’t have to embark on your healing journey alone. Having #eczema is truly a blessing. Words that younger me thought I’d NEVER say, but can confidently say now because it brought me to my skin family. It brought me home. I’m so grateful for my support system and for our community of #eczemawarriors. Until next year šŸ’™ #eczemaawareness #atopicdermatitis #unhideeczema #skinlove #topicalsteroidwithdrawal #tsw

This group is some of the most vibrant and brave people I’ve had the pleasure of working with to advocate for change - and all of us have a story that’s worth hearing. Together, we represented the 84 million people living with skin diseases. Respresentation is so important, and it was an honor to meet with Georgia members of congress to share my personal journey and discuss how we can partner together for better patient outcomes. Grateful to @kellybarta for organizing this event and putting on a successful Hill day.
