@_bal_masque_ continues …this time with the #CirqueDuSoleil themed Christmas dinner. A few people know how much i’ve always loved being the host. I’ve learned this in my family, where absolutely everybody had the chance to feel like they belong, where everybody felt loved and everybody had the chance to sing along and dance all night. My mom called me yesterday and she said..” You are absolutely crazy, just like your father, always having the need to invite people over and direct your own show” I laughed. There might be costumes but nothing is staged…the irony of the entire #BalMasque concept is that everybody has the chance to be themselves. I’d never ask anything from anybody but their truth…and their own true colours. #balmasqué on strings, a moment i will never forget. I really wanted to live with the audience at the premiere of @_bal_masque_ something for the first time. We had only 5 minutes of rehearsal with the musicians before our guests started to arrive. It was a premiere for me. I knew how the songs sounded in a piano version but i really wanted to heart it with a quintet. I really wanted to celebrate the launch of @_bal_masque_ with the 180 people who have donated for this dream. Since the beggining of the crowdfunding, i thought that i will need a place where i can get together with them all. Surprinsingly, most of them live abroad or outside Bucharest…and it was my pleasure to chat with the ones who i was able to find by their name on instagram. But still some of them or I really passed my comfort zone when i decided to register #balmasqué as a movie, legally, but it was the only legal way to see it in a cinem. Big thanks to @cinematecaeforie and The National Council of the Cinematography for being so willing to help and for the collaboration. I will take also my time to thank @aquacarpatica.ro & @samburesti for watering our thirst for art and for letting us celebrate it à la grande! Thank you @jbl_romania for supporting & empowering my music and this event and @givenchybeauty @niranbeauty_romania for adding the exquisite french touch of perfume to the entire evening. Suite d’un bal masqué. It was really hard to decide with what picture from our launching event to start with, but i started with my own blood. Because somehow both of our fathers studied image & directing but we are the ones who actually put everything into scene. My father was joking yesterday and said it took him almost 60 years to make this picture. There were so many friends and family and collaborators at the launch of @_bal_masque_ and i am beyond grateful to have them all in my life. But i decided to start with the people behind the scenes, behind the cameras, behind the music, the dance, the make-up, the decor, the costumes . Some of the names from the cast are here. The ones who through their eyes, souls, minds and immense efforts made this dream a reality. The professionals, the introverts, the talented, the passionate, people who i am completely addicted to. Bottom line this picture has been put into scene by two cousins: me & @dinuatanasov as co-directors & and two brothers @iulianacristina & @alexandru.marian.popescu as the DOP’s. It is funny cause my only photo with @iulianacristina is while hugging. Everything you do in this life you do with people and for people and i just want to remind you all that your super power is represented by the people you surround yourself with. I was just lucky enough to create and play this game with people around the entire world: Japan, Moldova, France, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Scotland, UK, Portugal. We are all here together dancing in a #BalMasqué. I have never done anything by myself. In Ajunul Crăciunului, va las să vă inspirați de povestea noastră construită în culori, lumini şi decor de @fleur_a_porter . Am fost ìncântate şi eu şi @iulianacristina de contrastul între albastru și roșu de pe masă. Mi-am dorit foarte mult ca cinele #BalMasqué să fie iluminate doar de lumânări şi cred că am reuşit să avem tabloul frumos pe care îl visam. @oglinda.studio a reușit sǎ ne apropie în acest an de toate spiritele creatoare și ne bucurăm să fim acoperișul atâtor idei minunate.
