â¨He founded Dread Recordings in 1994 to provide a home for his signature sound: a combination of âbass-heavy yet soulfulâ production. Under various aliases, including Dark Soldier, Renegade, and Terrorist, he released some of the most influential tracks in electronic music history.
For over 30 years, Dread has remained at the forefront of the scene, nurturing legends such as Photek, Shy FX, and Dillinja, as well as contemporary stars like Serum and Bladerunner.
Ray Keithâs influence was cemented through his 19-year tenure at Black Market Records in Londonâs Soho. Working alongside co-founder Nicky Blackmarket, he turned the shopâs basement into the global epicenter of jungle and drum and bass.
Whether itâs his legendary production on the jump-up anthem âTerroristâ or his work leading the iconic Dread Recordings, Rayâs influence is unmatched.
