When my mom passed away in 2016, I realized that the only thing left of her is my memory. This work was inspired by a conversation of me & my mom where we had different memories about the same childhood events. It feels like my brain created some “memory glitches” to keep a certain image of her.
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑮𝒐 is about holding on to whatever remains in memory in order to let go. Like tissues, memories are absorbed in a private and fragile space.

Seorang tenaga pengajar yang sedari kecil bercita-cita menjadi komikus, Rega adalah seniman berbasis Bandung yang memproses kecintaannya pada menggambar melalui instalasi, animasi, narasi fiktif, hingga bebunyian. Baginya, berkarya adalah cara paling menyenangkan untuk mengolah rasa penasaran sekaligus kecemasannya terhadap masa depan. Jika sedang tidak bepergian untuk residensi atau pameran, Rega bisa ditemukan di Bojongkoneng, Bandung, sibuk memberi makan kucing-kucingnya.
Meneruskan risetnya yang masih berjalan, dalam open studio ini Rega akan menelusuri bagaimana sejarah sebuah kota membentuk relasinya dengan musik — mencari dan merekonstruksi jejak suara-suara yang ada, tapi tidak tercatat di sejarah.

In Situ / In Vitro｜YIRI ARTS Jakarta
In Situ / In Vitro brings together the practices of Tsai Pou-Ching @erjingcai and Rega Ayundya @_ayundya to examine how art operates as a system within the ecological crisis.
This exhibition does not aim to merge their artistic approaches, but rather to read the differences in position, distance, and sensitivity in responding to the same conditions: species loss and environmental change in the Anthropocene. Through the framework of In Situ / In Vitro, the exhibition presents a spectrum of artistic practices ”from direct engagement with habitats to imaginative experimentation in controlled spaces“ without positioning one as more valid or more correct than the other.
《In Situ / In Vitro》為藝術家蔡咅璟（Tsai Pou-Ching）與 Rega Ayundya 的雙人展。藝術如何在生態危機之中運作出發，思考藝術作為一種系統，能如何回應當代的環境處境。
本展並不試圖將兩位藝術家的方法整合為單一立場，而是透過他們在「位置、距離與感知方式」上的差異，觀看藝術如何面對《人類世》中持續發生的物種流失與環境變遷。透過「In Situ / In Vitro」的概念，展覽呈現一條從「直接進入棲地」到「在受控空間中進行想像與實驗」之間展開的實踐光譜，而不為其中任何一端劃分高低或優先順序。

The project is deeply rooted in the tragic reality of Indonesia’s waterways, specifically the Citarum and Ciliwung rivers. Once vital arteries, these waters have become toxic graves due to industrial textile waste and urban neglect, leading to the local extinction of native species such as Wallago attu (a type of catfish) and Bagarius yarelli, while others like Pangio kuhlii are vanishing rapidly.
However, Rega refuses to create a memorial for the dead. Instead, she acts as a speculative bio-architect. Building on her previous research-based project Mirageology (developed with Yayasan Lokus and biologists), she imagines a Darwinian “fast-forward.” In her vision, these species do not die; they mutate.

인도네시아 동시대 작가 5인의 작업을 통해 기억, 역사, 공동체, 감각에 대한 다양한 시선에 주목한다. 작가들의 예술적 실천은 보이지 않는 기억의 층위와 일상의 균열을 포착하며, 익숙한 진실에 대한 재해석의 계기를 마련한다. 이 전시는 광주 기반 큐레토리얼 그룹 ETR(신지유, 양다솔, 최영서)의 협력 기획으로 진행되며, 인도네시아와의 예술적 연대를 통해 감각과 서사의 다층성을 실험한다.

Mulai hari ini hingga akhir pekan, Kanosena dan Rega Ayundya akan mengaktivasi Warnet Sena-Seni Jungkir-Balik, bagian dari program Open Studio Wok The Rock di Cemeti Institute for Art and Society.
Rega adalah seniman asal Bandung yang sedang berada di Yogyakarta untuk mendalami animasi frame-by-frame. Bersama Rega, Kanosena juga mengerjakan animasi serupa, di samping kegiatannya memindai zine dan mentranskrip lirik lagu.
Keduanya akan memindahkan praktik artistik dan kegiatan bakti budaya mereka dari ruang kerja masing-masing ke dalam warnet ini. Selama open studio berlangsung, pengunjung dipersilakan membawa terbitan mereka untuk dipindai di tempat.
Poster ini dikerjakan secara kolaboratif oleh Kanosena dan Rega Ayundya sebagai bagian dari aktivasi ini.

Starting today until the weekend, Kanosena and Rega Ayundya will activate Warnet Sena-Seni Jungkir-Balik, as part of Wok The Rock’s Open Studio program at Cemeti Institute for Art and Society.
Rega is an artist from Bandung currently based in Yogyakarta to explore frame-by-frame animation. Together with Rega, Kanosena also working on similar animation projects, alongside scanning zines and transcribing song lyrics.
Both of them will temporarily move their artistic practices and cultural work from their usual studios into this internet café. During the open studio, visitors are welcome to bring their own publications to be scanned on site.
This poster was collaboratively made by Kanosena and Rega Ayundya as part of the activation.
