a little over 5 years ago, i met cornelius online. i’ve always felt so intensely passionate about all of my hobbies and interests (primarily music), and i’ve been shouting into the void abt all of it on sites like twitter for years. by doing that for so many years, i’ve befriended so many incredible ppl from all around the world who are just as passionate abt all of the same niche yet incredible art that they’ve also been naturally lead to discover on the internet. it’s something that brings me so much fulfillment. cornelius was the first real friend i made online through this internet subculture, and although we had been messaging and calling each other for years, we never got to meet irl once, as he lives all the way across the atlantic ocean in austria.
i always promised him i would make the trip out, and this past week, i finally did it. this guy is an absolute gem of a human and i’m so happy we were finally able to meet.
i always say that music will take you to incredible places, and this is just yet another case of that. vienna is probably somewhere i would have never have thought to visit if it weren’t for cornelius, and i’m so happy that i did. thank you for the spectacular adventures cornelius, i will see you again soon 💚
