Learn how to ease your most common proposal pain points and discover effective ways to articulate your unique values and tailor proposal content to each client to land more RFPs.
Participants will learn how to craft a compelling value-centered approach and adapt it to each client. We will begin by exploring the 3Ps research framework - People, Process, and Projects - to develop clear values and language that showcase your capabilities.
Then, we'll dive into client research techniques, uncovering methods to align your approach with each client's unique values and requirements. By the end of this session, you'll have drafted a powerful positioning statement that will guide the layout and narrative of your proposals, along with the skills to tailor it effectively, setting the stage for persuasive, client-centered proposals.

You have learned the skills to succeed in architecture, but do you know how to communicate your work to non-architects? Knowing how to talk about design and construction to non-professionals is a critical skill as you grow your career. While many architects are good at talking to their peers, they’re not always able to successfully verbalize the importance of their work to people outside the profession, including clients.
To be a leader, you need to be one step ahead of the game. Instead of describing the what, you need to be focused on the why. By communicating your value and your promise, you can confidently demonstrate ways to overcome your clients challenges and meet their goals. By building your brand, you can forefront your vision, expertise, and knowledge to your peers within the industry and beyond.
In this workshop, the co-presenters will show you how to create and disseminate your personal brand that can take you from satisfactory to sensational. They’ll discuss methods and strategy for building your reputation, such as: how to clearly communicate your ideas, write about relevant topics, leverage social media, speak at conferences, participate in professional organizations, and network like crazy.

ArchiteXX is creating an award for graduating women from accredited U.S. and Canadian Schools of Architecture. This Award is inspired by, and honors, Victoria Rospond’s multi-faceted, reformative, and generous approach to the practice of Architecture. The aspiration for the Victoria Rospond Award is to provide agency in carrying purpose into practice--practice that can be transformative and world changing.
As a creative individual whose design sensibilities permeated all aspects of her life, Victoria Rospond understood the vital importance of architecture as both a disciplinary pursuit, leveraged to improve the lives of those who use it, and a way of being in the world where she cared deeply about those she worked with and for. She understood practice as a space of real, even radical opportunity for exploration, and possibilities of new modes of working as an architect.
Victoria was an immensely generous person who was committed to fostering the next generation of architects. She mentored countless interns and young architects who worked at CDR Studio Architects, a practice she co-founded in 1996, as well as women who were involved in ArchiteXX, a women and architecture organization, where she was a founding board member. For Victoria, being an architect was not only about designing and building but also about being involved in the future of the discipline and ensuring that future generations of architects come to understand the importance of an expansive, collaborative, responsive, and engaged profession.
ArchiteXX will oversee the management of the award and each recipient of the Victoria Rospond Award will be chosen by the faculty teaching the professional practice course. We would like the first school that will host this award to be, The Rhode Island School of Design, Victoria’s alma mater to homage to the institution that was foundational for her career.
ArchiteXX will be hosting a free training work session with Maya Sharfi of Build Yourself as the 2nd installment of our mid-career mentorship program. The training will take place on Thursday, May 18th at 6:30pm ET. See below for details!
Ever felt stuck in your career growth or like there is no future in your role? Maybe you’ve asked for a promotion only to have your request brushed off or to be told that “it’s not your time.” You’ve watched other people get chosen for promotions and opportunities, and you wonder how they got on the growth track. Or perhaps you want to advance your career, but you just don't see a clear path forward or feel excited about the career path options you see ahead.
If you're feeling this way, you're not alone! Career progression in architecture can be really murky—it’s not always clear what’s possible and how to actually get chosen for promotion. And there are still “old boys’ club” dynamics that get in the way of women achieving promotions and higher salaries.
We totally get it, which was why ArchiteXX is so excited for Maya to host a free training for our community on getting promoted to the next title so you can gain the compensation, recognition, and leadership-level work you’ve been hoping for in your architecture career.
Join us on Thursday, May 18th at 6:30 PM ET. Register now by clicking the link in our bio!
We’ll be covering:
How to figure out your next step to advance in your career—even when there is no clear next step, or the obvious next steps don’t speak to you.
The four stages of getting a promotion—and why you should start on them before you feel 100% ready!
How to actually get the promotion you’ve wanted for so long, even if you’ve been asking for a while, with no results.
How to know whether your company is actually a place you can advance.
The 3 mistakes women make when going after a promotion—and how to avoid them!
Don’t miss your chance to learn from Maya’s experience and start working towards that promotion—and ask us personally any questions you have at the live Q & A session after the training.
