A moment of complete awe and bewilderment – capturing glimpses of totality through thin breaks in the clouds
It’s difficult to describe how it feels for me to stand in this cosmic alignment
It’s the most human thing I’ve ever felt
400x further, and 400x larger, it’s completely astonishing to me that the sun and moon are the exact same size from our perspective
And the way we all dance in perfect circles together
Syncing up like the hands of a clock
The power and stillness of totality in 2017 was monumental when I experienced it for the first time. Seven years later, I’m very, very grateful to have witnessed it again, and this time tried my best to photograph it
An eclipse is a beautifully challenging subject to shoot – I’m glad the clouds cleared just enough to reveal an image (seeing that solar flare come into view is wild)

I had the privilege of documenting @skyewalker_art ‘s latest pop of color in Leucadia, “Remember California”, a depiction of Mother Earth and a restoration of the original composition Skye had painted here 10 years ago.
It’s really quite incredible to see the scale and the creative process first hand – rendering photorealism with nothing but spray cans on a 40ft stucco wall. In just a few days. Insane. (Swipe to see some early stages before the video is released.)
Really appreciating the way art is celebrated and can bring an entire community together. And a huge heartfelt thank you to @skyewalker_art – always a creative recharge working with you. ⚡️
