On October 26, 2026, vote for Amanda Coombs — a proven community leader with a track record of showing up and getting the work done.
For years, I’ve been on the frontlines supporting residents and creating real change in Ward 7. This is just some of the work I’ve been proud to be part of:
• Helped residents get apartment repairs completed in a timely manner. Volunteered as a Tenant Representative for 13 years, helping residents with receiving:
New elevators
New flooring
The opening of a community gym
Repairs to potholes damaging cars in our community
• Applied for funding to create intergenerational programs for seniors to reduce isolation and increase connection.
• Partnered with local farms and organizations to create food programs addressing food insecurity for families.
• Applied for grants that enabled me to certify hundreds of residents free in Mental Health First Aid.
• Provided mental health support for community members and families during times of crisis and need.
• Hosted annual backpack and school supply giveaways to support children and youth.
• Organized toy drives during the holiday season for families in need.
• Supported families raising children on the spectrum and children living with other disabilities by connecting them to resources and supports.
• Opened an after-school program in Ward 7 that provides wraparound supports for youth and families.
• Created economic opportunities for residents through entrepreneurship initiatives, mentorship, and employment supports.
And this is not an exhaustive list — because the work has never stopped. I don’t just talk about change during election season, I’ve been doing the work in this community for years.

What a beautiful way to kick off the warm weather! ☀️ We had an amazing time taking 39 youth from @back2basickz on a tour of Little Jamaica hosted by @g.h.e.t.t.o_stories and we wrapped up the day with some great food at The Entertainment Kitchen.
Experiences like these matter. Our youth deserve opportunities to explore culture, build community, create memories, and simply enjoy being young. Let’s continue pouring into the next generation and creating safe, positive spaces for them to thrive.

Congratulations to @astrosankofa on the unveiling of your beautiful mural at the Jane Finch Mall yesterday! 🎨☀️ What a powerful and vibrant piece of art — truly a ray of sunshine that welcomes everyone as they enter the mall. Your creativity continues to uplift and inspire our community, and I’m so proud to see your talent recognized. Congratulations as well on your awards and welcome to the Toronto Community Champions Award club! Wishing you continued success, prosperity, and many more opportunities to shine.
For years, I’ve been advocating and attending development meetings to help save our beloved Jane & Finch Mall, a place filled with so much history, culture, memories, and community connection. It’s heartbreaking to know that so many substantial moments tied to this space may one day be erased. That’s why preserving our community voices, stories, and legacy matters so much.
On October 26, vote Amanda Coombs — a proven voice that will continue to advocate for all your needs and fight to preserve the heart of our community. ❤️

Huge thank you to the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program for approving our application and giving us the opportunity to hire 8 amazing youth this summer through @back2basickz ! 💙
Creating opportunities for our youth has always been at the heart of the work I do, from mentorship and employment support to helping young people build confidence, skills, and a brighter future. This is just the beginning.
I can’t wait for the opportunity to represent our community at City Hall and continue creating more employment opportunities and pathways to success for youth across Ward 7.

It’s always a blessing connecting with the Elders of our community, especially the Honourable Mr. Winston LaRose, also known as “Mr. Jane & Finch.” The wisdom, history, and knowledge he continues to share with our community are truly priceless.
So many of us stand on the shoulders of our elders, and I am deeply grateful for every conversation, every lesson, and every opportunity I’ve had to work alongside Mr. LaRose over the years. It’s an honour to carry that knowledge forward and pour it back into the next generation — his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of the youth in Ward 7.
We all play an important role in building a stronger, more connected community. Each one, teach one.

From the classrooms to the frontlines of our community, I’ve always believed in pouring into the next generation. 🥰
I had an amazing time volunteering as a Career Coach with the Ontario Career Lab @cwjsac , sharing my journey from high school, to York University, and now to pursuing my Master’s degree. I reminded students that no matter where you start, the possibilities are endless when you stay focused, work hard, and believe in yourself.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in many rewarding roles — as a mental health crisis worker, supporting individuals in our local shelters, working with children and youth on the spectrum and with disabilities, and teaching as a CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Every experience has strengthened my passion for serving people, advocating for our communities, and creating opportunities for others.
Never limit your dreams — your future can take you further than you ever imagined. ✨

True leadership means showing up for everyone in our community. This is what I do daily💙
I’m proud to stand alongside vulnerable residents, including those living with hearing impairments and to advocate for a Humber River–Black Creek where every voice is valued, included, and heard. Accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity should never be an afterthought. They should be part of how we build our community every single day.
Vote for me as your next City Councillor, I will continue working to create safer, more inclusive spaces and stronger supports for all residents regardless of their ability. Together, we can build a community where nobody feels left behind.

Had an amazing time celebrating Cinco de Mayo with friends at @mundo.sportsbar one of our newest local spots in the community located at 2560 Finch Ave W, North York, ON M9M 2G3! 🇲🇽🎉
Thank you to the owners for the warm hospitality and for all that you do to support community members, especially those experiencing challenges with mental health and addiction. You both truly have huge hearts and your compassion does not go unnoticed. ❤️
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and has become a celebration of Mexican culture, resilience, and community. It was beautiful to see people come together in joy, laughter, music, and unity.
As we continue building stronger communities, let’s remember the importance of supporting our local establishments. Small businesses help create jobs, bring people together, and often give back in ways many never see behind the scenes.

Today I spent time in the Driftwood community supporting a resident who reached out for resources and supports for her son on the spectrum. Conversations like these are so important because there are so many families across our community struggling to access the services and supports their children deserve.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many children on the spectrum and provide respite support for families who simply needed a break. Supporting families and advocating for inclusive services is something that has always been close to my heart, and I will continue fighting for more accessible resources and supports in our communities.
If you or your family need support, please feel free to contact me at 647-581-7362 or email [email protected].
