With time feeling like it’s been moving so quickly, I’m reminded to cherish all the moments with friends and family to the fullest.
Thank you everyone who made 2025 full of joy. Looking forward to making more memories with you all in 2026!
Happy New Year! 🎉
@thvertalert was insane this year!
Awesome to see so many skaters travel from all over the world competing, cheering each other on, and continue to push Vert Skating to another level.
Looking forward to the next one and can’t imagine what bag of tricks they’ll pull up with next year 🎉
Here are some of my favorite moments I captured.
When I saw @tonyhawk land the last trick of his video part, I didn’t realize it was the ender nor the significance of the moment at the time because it seemed like another day in the life of Tony operating at a high level in pursuit of progression.
He’s overcome so much adversity since his injury and his new video part captures his resilience and love for his craft.
When I first got news of his injury, I remember feeling numb with worry because of its severity. In skating, you see your friends go through injuries and you try to put on a strong face but I couldn’t help but feel concerned as I watched someone I care about endure the challenges of recovering from an injury of this magnitude.
I’ve witnessed him navigate his first steps back walking, dropping in, and relearning tricks. Then have to go back into surgery and do it all over again. His mental strength to persevere through everything he has is inspiring and it brings me joy to see him skate at a high level again.
As I watch his video part, I’m reminded of all the work he put in behind the scenes to build himself back. I remember talking to him about overcoming injuries as skaters and he said, “this is what we do and it comes down to how bad we want it”.
Seeing his approach of not accepting defeat and finding ways to overcome unfavorable circumstances is something we can all take life lessons from.
I recall wanting to drop off a get well wish thinking he’d be at home from the hospital but was instead on a plane continuing business as usual. He continued to lead the charge and his work ethic inspired us to follow suit.
At a time when faced with uncertainty, you’d think he’d be more focused on his own wellbeing but I would continue to see him care and uplift those around him. He’s helped me overcome fears, channel my creativity, build self confidence, and provided opportunities through his support and projects we do. He’s had such a positive impact on my life and I’m forever grateful.
Thank you Tony for being someone we can look up to and showing us the endless possibilities of pursuing passions with self belief.
Looking forward more skating and fun projects to come!
