This International Dance Day, as the world celebrates the joy of dance, Living Jazz is honored to present the Gabriel Trupin Dance Scholarship winner, expanding our mission to make our programs more accessible and to transform lives through the arts.
Ali-David Abdullah is a multidisciplinary performing artist, educator, and creative based in Oakland, California, whose work spans dance, music, spoken word, and live performance. Trained across multiple movement styles and performance disciplines, he brings a dynamic, physically grounded presence to both the stage and the community spaces he serves.
Attending Jazz Camp West is the next step in that journey — a chance to reconnect, recharge, and go deeper into the artistry that drives him.
