Afrocan Festival 2026.
Lagos,Nigeria.
14th - 20th December 2026.
Presently the world not okay, but why we do we still need to dance in this chaotic times?
Kizúté is a whisper, a shared space, an act of reclaiming. This year our feet shall say what the mouth cannot utter.
We shall imagine a new world order through dance, in music, in the classes, in the Raves, in the exchange of cultures and so on.
Our meeting point is the everly active city of Lagos, where day and night are interwoven.
Calling all dancers from every corner of the globe! Plan to be in Lagos this December.
Afrocan Festival is upon us.
Let the count down begin!
The drum does not call one dancer alone. It calls the village of thinkers, builders, storytellers, and visionaries who understand that movement is more than performance it is memory, gatherings, interventions, entrepreneurship, structure, leadership, and legacy.
THE CONCLAVE is a gathering of minds shaping movement beyond the stage.
A space for choreographers, company heads, dance event organizers, and festival makers ready to deepen their practice, strengthen their organizational thinking, and sharpen their artistic vision.
Join Obiajulu Ozegbe (Valu) for a full-day intensive session exploring dance-making, organizational modules, artistic leadership, and festival creation.
Here, ideas will meet intention, and vision will meet responsibility.
This session is for creatives who wish to build work modules that lasts beyond applause.
Participants should come prepared with a 2-minute oral presentation of their Festival, Project, or Company.

Guild of Nigerian Dancers presents.
World Dance Day 2026. Hosted by EkoGond.
WE MOVE.
World Dance Day 2026 by the Guild of Nigerian Dancers is a gathering of bodies, stories, and shared memory. It is a space where dancers, choreographers, cultural leaders, and communities from various parts of Nigeria come together not just to perform, but to reflect, exchange, and build. Under the theme “We Move,” this three day experience explores dance as heritage, as profession, as culture, and as a living archive of who we are.
Before the drum was named, we already understood its call. Before language found structure, the body was already speaking. In every step, every turn, every rhythm carried in the chest, movement has always been our first way of knowing ourselves and each other.

The truth is,this recap cannot carry the full weight of what was felt.
Not the sweat. Not the laughter rising like drums at dusk.
Not the quiet moments where something sacred passed between us all.
But let this be a reminder
a soft call to the wind,
to stay plugged into Afrocan this year.
Because what is coming
is not just bigger,
it is deeper.
Richer.
More rooted.
The river will not forget its source.
Big announcements are on the way
Like thunder before rain.
In the meantime,
sit with these moments from the maiden edition
hold them gently.
like fire in your palms.
Because you already know
It gets better.

One of the most meaningful moments of Afrocan Festival : the Elders Circle.💡
Sitting in circle with the elders of our dance community, listening, learning, and receiving wisdom passed through lived experience. This gathering reminded us that our future is strongest when it stays rooted. A powerful moment of guidance, reflection, and collective growth.
