The AEA in collaboration with FINTEX Ethiopia, successfully hosted the panel discussion “Designing Beyond Aesthetics: Smart Specifications & Safe Material Choices in Interior Design” on January 30, 2026.
The session brought together experienced architects actively practicing interior design, who shared valuable insights on specification standards and making safe, responsible design choices within their projects. The conversation explored when interior design should begin in the project lifecycle, the growing responsibility for designers to balance functional requirements with aesthetics, and the importance of strong collaboration with contractors and suppliers to achieve the best outcomes.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the panelists for generously sharing their time and expertise, and to FINTEX Ethiopia for creating a platform that fosters meaningful industry dialogue and knowledge exchange.
