GROOVE SERIES
“F.L.”, “E.A.”, “G.T.”, “J.X.” (individual photos from left to right)
4x4in. acrylic on stretched canvas, 2026
from “MICRA” Group Exhibition at Pinspired Art Gallery @pinspired.artgallery
I am so used to working on a larger scale, whether it’s painting murals on big walls or creating pieces on various canvas sizes. This series, though smaller, turned out to be a really fun and memorable challenge compared to my previous work. It gave me the chance to explore new subjects while staying true to my style and keeping a consistent color palette.
From experimenting with color values to trying out fresh ideas, I wanted each piece to stand on its own. Every artwork in this series is meant to capture a certain kind of “groove,” which is where the title comes from. I won’t go too deep into explaining each one, so viewers can interpret them in their own way.
As you slide through the series, I hope each piece leaves you with a sense of ‘groove’ and a feeling of bliss.

“Between the Pages”
Acrylic on canvas
15 x 20 inches
2025
As we flip through the pages, different stories unfold.
As we flip through the pages, exciting moments emerges.
As we flip through the pages, we encounter various adventures that teach us and inspire us to further explore the story that is meant to unfold.
Created for the “Onceupon” group art exhibition, this piece draws inspiration from the story of Odysseus and Cyclops, the one-eyed giant. Among the many versions of this tale, I chose this book that’s retold by Peggy Manuel.
The story’s key events begin when Odysseus and his men are forced to land on an island after sailing into a storm when their ship is battered by the waves. They discovered a cave and decided to take shelter from the rain, unaware that it belongs to a Cyclops. Odysseus and his men are trapped when the Cyclops blocks the cave’s entrance with a massive boulder. Odysseus tricks the Cyclops by getting him drunk and blinding him with a flaming branch. The men then escape by hiding beneath the sheep and hurry back to their ship, successfully fleeing from the giant.
The story teaches us that intelligence can be stronger than brute force. Odysseus survives not by fighting directly, but by relying on cleverness and careful planning.
Through this piece, I aim to reflect how such encounters challenges our abilities and understandings. Yet, we must continue sailing through it to attest our abilities and to preserve the lessons hidden 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨.

2025 RECAP!
I didn’t really notice how much I created this year until I started scrolling through my photo albums. Despite the packed work schedule, and all the random curveballs life likes to throw, I still somehow found time to stay creative. Which really helped me control my sanity. Looking back, I’m grateful to have made quite a number of paintings, some of which even found their way to group art shows. And I couldn’t be more thankful for those opportunities!
At some point, I picked up my brushes again and started playing with acrylics. No big plan, just boredom and curiosity. That little experiment slowly turned into a new series (and maybe a new style?) called PINTACLES. I never fully stepped away from pen & ink, but I felt this pull to reconnect with color, to relearn it, play with it, and revisit a palette that’s always feel so warm to me.
It was a pretty productive year, even though I wasn’t very present in sharing my works online. I wish I had the energy to post more, and I’m hoping next year will be different.
2025 was honestly a wild ride, but also creatively rewarding in ways I didn’t expect. Here’s to slowing down, showing up a little more, and seeing where my creative journey will take me in 2026.
See you next year! Padayun ra tag bunal sa kinabuhi!

“May I go around?“
- acrylic on canvas
- 12 x 15 inches
- 2025
late post…
It’s been quite a while since I last painted on canvas, and I can honestly say that getting back to painting has been both exciting and emotional for me. For this year’s Arte Fair, I decided to return to my roots and create a piece that holds a lot of personal meaning. As I worked on this painting, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of nostalgia, coupled with bittersweet emotions.
Arte Cafe & Gallery, where my creative journey truly took flight, closed its doors. I’ll forever be grateful for being a part of such a supportive and inspiring community, one that continuously pushed me to explore new creative avenues and helped me grow as an artist. Arte Cafe & Gallery has played a huge role in shaping who I am today, and I will always carry its spirit with me, no matter where my art takes me.
This piece was displayed at Arts & Design Collective Dumaguete (ADCD) during Arte Cafe and Gallery’s final exhibit; “Where Dreams Began.”
Will continue to share this art style with you so come along and let’s celebrate the beauty of art together.

hamsa x octi / TINTAcles
Last week, I recently bought a hamsa sticker made by one of our local artists here in our city and I remembered I did this piece last August. If this post happens to cross into your feed, and as what ‘hamsa’ symbolizes, may this protect you from all the negative energies and brings you good luck.

So… I wasn’t able to finish this year’s inktober prompt… again. Been busy balancing life and school lately and I was having a hard time managing my time. So here’s a quick and random ink piece that I did. Just don’t mind the title that I gave to this piece. The explanation of it is kind of grotesquely strange or odd. But anyways, I hope anyone who sees this post is having a great day.
