A loved one said to me after the wedding, “I can tell you really paid attention to the details.” That meant so much to me, because I truly did. I poured so much time, care, and intention into every part of the day. From the custom menus, to the décor inspiration, to the mirror decals, the Polaroid guest book, the cake baked and decorated by my mom, the gizzada and potato pudding on the pastry table, the seating chart I created in Canva, the custom wedding magazines I designed myself, the blue sandals made by a local Jamaican brand, and the playing cards as favors because we love a good game night. Not to mention, some details still carried our original wedding date—and somehow that felt right too. A quiet reminder that even when plans shift, what’s meant for you still finds its way. So many thoughtful touches, all rooted in love. 💕

Chapter 2: The Ceremony Started a little late (the bride… hates that 😭) …but somehow, it still felt right on time. By the water, surrounded by soft florals and ocean breeze— a semi-circle altar lined with flowers on the grass, like something out of a dream. He walked down first, side by side with his best man, Matrimony playing… setting the tone for everything that was about to happen. Then the bridal party— bridesmaids in silk champagne dresses, each walking with a groomsman, everyone stepping in with so much style, softness, and joy. And then… me 🤍 From the very first moment, it wasn’t just emotional— it was us. Fun, a little silly, full of personality. The pastor said what needed to be said… and a few things everyone was already thinking too 😂 The best man? Pretending not to have the ring. The groom? Throwing his glasses in excitement the second he saw me— and somehow making me laugh through all the nerves. It wasn’t perfect. It was better—it was real. This one is called back to reality 🫶🏾 A friend asked me if I was experiencing post-wedding blues. I had to sit with that question for a second… and honestly, yes—in my own way. You spend over a year planning, stressing, dreaming, and running on pure adrenaline for one big day. Then in my case, everyone I love was in one place, under one roof, for a whole weekend. So much joy, so much fullness. Then it ends, everyone goes home, life gets quiet again… and you’re left wondering what now? I realized I’ve been trying to outrun that feeling by staying busy, doing more, achieving more, filling every second instead of just feeling it. Maybe it’s not sadness. Maybe it’s the come down after something beautiful. Anywho… if you’ve ever felt that weird little emptiness after a high moment in life, you’re not alone 🫶🏾

Chapter 4: The Celebration A quick change… and the bride reappears in a beaded, backless dress.. paired with flat blue @bridgetsandalsja … my something blue 💙 The night officially begins. Our first dance, soft, sweet, just us again for a moment. Then the speeches, words from his father, from my father, from my MOH, and the best man. Laughter, love, a few tears… all the good stuff. The groomsmen? A little rowdy 😭 definitely having the time of their lives— and yes… they may have had more to drink than the bridesmaids. But that’s what made it fun. It felt like us. We moved through the room, table to table, greeting everyone who came to celebrate with us, soaking in every face, every hug, every moment. Menus on the tables, one side English, the other patois. A perfect blend… just like our lives. And then the dancing, Jamaican, American, everything in between. One big group, all together, no separation… just pure joy.
