My creation for the @madeinessex Secret Postcard Sale 2025 ! Hosted at the amazing @70thebroadway . Such a great honour to be apart of this is exhibition and charity auction for my third time now ! with all proceeds going towards @metalsouthend ‘s Connect & Create programme providing art classes for people living with dementia. - I simply did not know what to create for my postcard initially. I started with a base of spray paint and planned to illustrate a simple cartoon-esque anecdote over the top, something about singing in the car i think, but my impatience and perfectionism got the best of me and i began to smudge and scrape paint off before it had even dried. This started to result in a multi-layered abstract mess which I knew I could never 1. be finished with and 2. draw any sort of cartoon anecdote over the top and be satisfied with it! So I opted for words that could explain both the process of this postcard but also mine in art and life! - I made this back in November and can probably say this is the most recent ‘thing’ I made. It’s an interesting time Jan/Feb as I want to be busy, and want to be making ‘things’ but I just can’t make it happen. I hope to be back messing around and finding things out soon!… but for now all I want to do on these cold, wet evenings after work is drink tea and stare at screens, which isn’t all bad!!

Looking back at last Friday’s workshop with the BA Photography 3rd years at LCC! We had such a great time! 📷🎨🫶 - It was so great for us to be back where it all began! The One Hour Residency was born out of the BA Photography course at LCC, we couldn’t be more grateful to share the project for a second time! with the current third years! - A huge thank you to the participants and for believing in our photocopy portrait icebreaker! and thank you to @lccphotographyprogramme and @krasimirabutseva for inviting us back :)) 🫶📷 - #theonehourresidency

What a great evening we had last night at @metalsouthend hosting an informal, casual, networking event with our own art-making intervention !! 🍻🎨🖼️🫶 - There were comically large artist statement name tags, artists truth or dare cards to be played, a photocopy portrait gallery and a giant scroll to be filled with art!! - Huge thanks to everyone who came along and mingled and make and talked about art! And a huge thanks to @metalsouthend @philippa.stewart and @amberr.merry for hosting us and making us feel welcome every step of the way !! :) - @metalcultureuk #theonehourresidency 🫶

What a great time we had yesterday at our @castlepointartistopenstudios event at @hofshadleigh Art House with @hadleighgallery !! 🫶 - This followed a new structure that is a complete cycle of an artists residency. Our fantastic artists joined and started work by researching the surroundings and experimenting with ways of art-making they haven’t before. They then wrote a short application (one where everyone is successful!) and then they made their artwork! And finally, we were able to march down to the @hadleighgallery to install their artwork in their exhibition!! A full residency cycle in just a few hours!! 🎨🎉📷📚🫶 - Huge thank you to everyone who came along and made work and a huge thank you to @castlepointartistopenstudios @julestwoharts @hadleighgallery @hofshadleigh for all your amazing support :) - The artwork is now on show in @hadleighgallery until Sunday 19th Oct, be sure to check it out and send us photos when you do :) - #theonehourresidency 🫶
