Werner. Nash. Thank you. Truly. You embodied kindness and generosity. In a culture and world that constantly competes and deletes and fights you always empowered and inspired. When I met you 26 years ago, you already were a KING. In graffiti KINGS don’t hang with beginners. But your heart was too big for that poor mentality. So many writers, myself included, where guided and loved and protected by you. Many became legends themselves by now. And they know what you meant to them. The hand you so generously offered to all of us.... was the hand of life. Nothing else. You helped so many kids find self worth, joy, discipline, skill, direction. True hip hop spirit. Life affirming. Giving is receiving......... breaks my heart to write this really. There’s not many people like you. Really not.
Such a positive source of life you were. Not a bad bone in your system. Fearless, completely. Never looking for trouble, but if trouble came you didn’t flinch and went head on. Fearless, no matter the adversary. And then this monster showed up..... and again.... you went head on....you beat the sucker for years. Fearless.
Glad I got to see you two weeks ago...... only thing is..... in the car on our way back to your place I remember I promised you a playlist of my favourite DJ premier tracks..... I was actually working on it as we speak and then the news came in.......
