Christoph Girardet subverts the conventional cinematic narrative of the classic Hollywood film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The plot does not progress; the neoclassical architecture of the Lincoln Memorial becomes the setting for a ritual in which the protagonist loses himself among the building’s pillars. Carlos Irijalba examines movements between animate and inanimate matter, and their shifts under the effect of gravity or through geological cycles. Broersen & Lukács depict the Dutch Parliament in The Hague as a digital ruin, and, at its centre, the lion Faust — a spectral figure in search of a freedom that devours itself, on the verge of collapse. Sina Ahmadkhani explores an American urban landscape, reflecting on her native country, grappling with the weight of grief and responsibility linked to the collective anguish that has affected Iranians. In 2015, in Damascus, the district of Basateen al-Razi and its orchards were razed to punish the population that had risen up against the regime. Antoine Chapon films two former residents recalling their lives in this neighbourhood. Dina Mimi, in her film shot in Palestine, Jordan and the Netherlands, explores gestures common to both the fugitive and the smuggler.

Dedicated to the 200th anniversary of photography, the exhibition offers an exploration of the medium’s evolution through the works of different generations of Georgian and international photographers.
Bringing together works created across nearly a century and in diverse historical periods, the exhibition is united by a single thread: every photograph was taken in Georgia. Through the shifting visual languages and content, the exhibition also traces the contours of the country’s transformation over time. The convergence of documentary and conceptual images - depicting historical events and the people at their center - creates a multilayered visual portrait of Georgia.

Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum School invites you to a series of workshops titled “People | Places | Stories.”
The workshop series consists of five independent yet interconnected sessions, combining practical and theoretical components, and focuses on developing visual storytelling skills.
Together with mentor Mariam Ghunashvili, participants will have the opportunity to observe the creation of an image in real time—when nothing is staged and everything is in motion.
The focus will be not only on technical choices, but also on that fragile moment when the photographer decides—whether to move closer or step back, to wait or to act. Participants will work in live environments and reflect on their own reactions during the process: how fear affects the body, how intuition shapes decisions, and how personal experience influences what we notice—and what we don’t.
The workshop is based on the mentor’s extensive experience as a self-taught photographer, who has developed her own vision and method through observation of both the external environment and internal processes. This approach brings together responsiveness to the outside world and inner awareness—the ability for an image to emerge not only through seeing, but through feeling.

თბილისის ფოტოგრაფიისა და მულტილტიმედიის მუზეუმის სკოლა გიწვევთ ვორქშოფების სერიაზე “ადამიანები | ადგილები | ამბები”.
ვორქშოფების სერია ხუთი დამოუკიდებელი, თუმცა ურთიერთდაკავშირებული შეხვედრისგან შედგება, აერთიანებს პრაქტიკულ და თეორიულ სესიებს და ვიზუალური თხრობის უნარების განვითარებაზეა ფოკუსირებული.
მენტორთან, მარიამ გიუნაშვილთან ერთად, მონაწილეებს საშუალება მიეცემათ დააკვირდნენ კადრის შექმნას რეალურ დროში - მაშინ, როცა არაფერია დადგმული და ყველაფერი მოძრაობაშია.
ყურადღება დაეთმობა არა მხოლოდ ტექნიკურ არჩევანს, არამედ იმ მყიფე მომენტს, როცა ფოტოგრაფი წყვეტს - ახლოს მივიდეს თუ უკან დაიხიოს, დაელოდოს თუ იმოქმედოს. მონაწილეები იმუშავებენ ცოცხალ გარემოში და გააანალიზებენ საკუთარ რეაქციებს პროცესში: რას აკეთებს შიში სხეულთან, როგორ ცვლის ინტუიცია გადაწყვეტილებას, როგორ მოქმედებს პირადი გამოცდილება იმაზე, რას ვამჩნევთ და რას - ვერა.
ვორქშოფი ეფუძნება მენტორის როგორც თვითნასწავლი ფოტოგრაფის მუშაობის მრავალწლიან პრაქტიკას, რომელმაც საკუთარი ხედვა და მეთოდი გარემოზე და შინაგან პროცესებზე დაკვირვებით შექმნა. ეს გამოცდილება აერთიანებს გარე სამყაროს სტიმულებზე რეაგირებას და შინაგან მდგომარეობას - იმ უნარს, რომ კადრი დაიბადოს არა მხოლოდ თვალით, არამედ განცდითაც.

მარიამ გიუნაშვილი (მზესუ) დოკუმენტური ფოტოგრაფია, რომელიც საქართველოში ცხოვრობს და მუშაობს. მარიამი Magnum Photos მიერ ორგანიზებული წლევანდელი ინგე მორათის ჯილდოს ფინალისტია. მას მიღებული აქვს გრანტები Prince Claus Fund-ის, Magic Carpets-ის, თბილისის ფოტო ფესტივალისა და GCRT-სგან. 2020 წელს ის შეირჩა Canon Visa Pour L’Image-ის ვორქშოფისთვის.
24 აპრილს, 19:00 საათზე გიწვევთ გიორგი რაზმაძის წიგნის “ექსპერიმენტული კინო” წარდგენაზე.
ავანგარდი მუდამ იყო? 2009 წელს კემბრიჯის უნივერსიტეტის არქეოლოგებმა გამოაქვეყნეს მოკლე ვიდეო ესეი, რომელშიც იტალიის ალპებში მცხოვრები ერთ-ერთი ტომის ქვაზე ამოტვიფრული გრაფიკული ნახატები შეისწავლეს და პროტოკინოს არსებობის თეორია წამოაყენეს. კინო 36 ათასი წლის წინ დაიბადა და არსებობდა მანამდე, სანამ კინოაპარატს გამოიგონებდნენ.
წიგნი ექსპერიმენტული კინოს ისტორიასა და თეორიას შეეხება. მასში განხილულია მე-20 და 21-ე საუკუნეების ხელოვნებაში არსებული აქტუალური საკითხები და ეტაპები. კვლევა მომზადდა შოთა რუსთაველის თეატრისა და კინოს სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის დიმიტრი ჯანელიძის სახელობის სამეცნიერო-კვლევითი ინსიტიტუტის ბაზაზე.
