On the 26th of June, Glasgow’s Mallet Space + Slug are voyaging as far South as anyone ought - Manchester. They will be joining forces with Northern rollers isness + Dish, Texas to play for one night only at SOUP.
Mallet Space are an eight-piece alt-rock band with an energetic, unpredictable sound. Their songs are characterised by storytelling and a tongue-in-cheek jauntiness, with their recent debut release described as “a Vince Guaraldi soundtrack for Charlie Brown, played by Pavement” (Johnny Pictish, Lost Map Records).
Slug are a three-piece-post-rock band that have been described by one fan as “Sometime loud and fast. Sometimes loud and slow.”
isness are a brand new 4-piece of Manchester 6a6 6 collective, raised on scratched CDs, physically looping brash bouts of industrial bossa no-wave.
Dish, Texas are a gritty modern indie rock band with twangy, hommande bedroom pop influences.
