Nomen (@alteralterlabel / @sihlrecords ) 🥷🏻 Danilo Iacone, known professionally as Akyra and Nomen, is a Naples-born (1989) and Zürich-based DJ, producer, and label owner. His early exposure to music came through his grandfather, who introduced him to the guitar, sparking a lifelong passion for music. Akyra’s interest in jazz began with the discovery of his family’s vintage jazz records, which significantly shaped his eclectic musical taste. By the age of 14, Akyra had begun honing his DJ and production skills, drawing influence from a wide array of genres that he distills into his signature minimalistic sound. His deep, genre-spanning influences are evident in his DJ sets and productions, where he combines elements from various musical styles with his refined minimal approach. Akyra has made notable contributions to the electronic music scene, with over 20 vinyl releases on respected labels such as Blind Vision, WE_R House, and Covered among many others. He is also an integral member of the Zürich-based collective, SIHL Records. In 2023, Akyra co-founded @alteralterlabel , a vinyl-only label, alongside his partner @____.ma_rie.____ . The label specializes in minimal and dark minimal sounds, showcasing releases from prominent artists like Zefzeed, Zenk, Stekke, and Lowris, with more to come. Influenced by jazz, funk, and the deep, mysterious world of percussive micro house, his music carries emotional depth and an organic sense of rhythm that reflects his inner state rather than external trends. Having lived in London, Leeds, Barcelona, and Ibiza, he was shaped by the diversity of cultures and sounds that surrounded him. During his time in the UK, he became a resident DJ at Distrikt Bar Leeds and also performed at Fabric London — experiences that strengthened his connection to the dancefloor and helped him define his own direction. In 2019, he started the AMB Series on Bandcamp as an act of creative liberation. After years of waiting for label approvals and trying to adapt to their sound and direction, he realized that this approach was limiting his own artistic identity. The process stopped feeling organic — and constantly trying to fit into other labels’ expectations began to distort what music truly meant to him. AMB-001 marked the beginning of a return to authenticity — where music exists not to impress, but to express. For Ambos, creating isn’t about trends, algorithms, or validation, but about letting feelings take form through sound. Once a track is created and released, it naturally finds those who are on the same frequency. It’s not that the listener seeks the music, or the music seeks the listener — the meeting simply happens when the vibrations align. If it inspires, uplifts, or just feels good, that’s beautiful. And if it doesn’t, that’s natural too — every piece of music has its own time, its own place, and its own listeners. Having reached its eighth release with AMB-008, the series now continues with the upcoming AMB-009 — a new chapter that stays true to the essence of the source.
