Swift long shorts in black restocked
August 2024 I designed the shorts in my little shared studio that I couldn’t afford in Hackney Wick, the brand launched 4 months later, but they weren’t really on anyone’s radar until this time last year and then the brand changed my life (thank you)
I’ve been asked a lot about my design process but pretty much I run my life on vibes and my design process is the same, it’s like an artist recording an album, these clothes (but they are, just clothes) are like time capsules for me. They represent moments and emotions in my life, that affects fabrics, colours and silhouette/draping. When I’ve closed the chapter, it feels strange to me that people still love the clothes because I’ve moved on from that point, but from anyone else’s perspective they’re just great clothes.
So much has changed since I started, but the process is still the same, deadstock fabric sourced in London, shorts made in London, shipped from London (except for EU). Something I really pride myself on is the localness of the business. I really back British production and British makers, I love having a relationship with every person who makes Paiden exist, to be honest I text them more than I text my Mom
Maybe I’ll do a soppy IG post every month idk yet it kinda goes against my mysterious vibe but also this is my job and I love it so much and I just want to share everything with you
