Eddie Palmieri is basically one of the most important figures in salsa, especially in shaping the New York sound in the 1960s and ’70s. He led La Perfecta, which stood out for using trombones instead of trumpets, giving his music a heavier, more aggressive feel.
He mixed Afro-Cuban rhythms with jazz in a really advanced way, both in his piano playing and his arrangements, pushing salsa beyond just dance music into something more complex and experimental.
He’s also a multi-time Grammy winner and one of the first major Latin artists to win a Grammy for salsa. More than anything, his influence is huge—his sound and style helped define modern salsa, and a lot of what you hear today traces back to what he was doing back then.

Some of these records are 50 yrs old and still sound amazing. Can't beat that! Vinyl to me is complex art because of not only the beautiful covers, but they also play incredible music.
