As some of you might or might not know I work part-time at a toy shop and lately I’ve been quite inspired by the cute toys we have. 🧸 This character design is based on the doll „Orangenkind Otto“ by @nanchennatur . I absolutely adore their simple and whimsy designs, they just hit a spot 🥹 reference pic on the second slide 👉
I had a great time with this one! It’s been a while since I’ve used my watercolor style but I managed to remember most of the technique 🤓

Ngl 2025 felt like 3 whole years combined.
After being betrayed by my partner of 12 years at the end of 2024 I basically had to scrap all my visions of a near future and begin a new life. The start of it was strong with me traveling to Costa Rica for a reset. I moved from the shared apartment with my ex into a new one with new flatmates and slowly had to adjust to a normal day by day. This year was truly a rollercoaster ride with lots of highs but also tons of lows. I met new people but had to let go of whom I thought as my best friend and home. Mentally, I had quite a few fallbacks bc of this and creatively I was also pretty demoralized. Not my best year as an artist indeed.
But time goes on and I’m more than grateful for all the people in my life that chose to stick with me through thick and thin ❤️ including my holy trinity @kaddy.cos@elobumblebee and @paulinalina03 and so many more 🙏💕
Let’s look forward to what 2026 has to offer 🥂

Wait, is this– yes, a drawing with a background! The real shocker on this day! Jokes aside, I was really inspired by @vanessagillings artwork esp her high-contrast sketches. I struggled a little with the shading but eventually found a good method that got me the results I wanted.

Ngl, I‘ve been in a pretty big slump since a couple of months. I’ve been trying to adjust to my new living situation and to a single life. My mental health has not been the best, that’s why it was especially hard for me to have any kind of motivation to be creative. Since I still struggle heavily with it I decided to sketch people based on Pinterest finds. So I don’t have to think about WHAT to draw and instead just keep my drawing abilities from regressing.
