Our members and some of our regulars got together at the weekend for a little test drive of their setup ahead of this Sunday’s @firedcornwall event. Incorporating members and some of our studio regulars the collective will be there all day showing off their wares. Please do come to the event at Tregenna Castle to say hello.

The Helston dragons are drying and nearly ready to go into the kiln for a fiery turn before we are able to reunite you with the beasts! We will be in touch with attendees next week with dates and times for collection.

MAKE A CLAY DRAGON
Saturday 21 March, 10am to 4pm
Join members of the Clay Trap team to make your own dragon out of terracotta clay. If you would like to keep your creation you will have the option to have it fired, at a cost of £5 per item. Participants of all ages are welcome.

A colourful kiln unloaded today. Lots of variety in there showing off the studio’s range of slips and glazes. Our members and open access attendees have been working hard.
Open access sessions run three times a week on Monday and Thursday evenings and Friday afternoons if you would like to come along for a drop-in session.

Learning pinch, coil and slab techniques you will get the chance to focus on one larger piece over four weeks: building big pots and working on surface decoration. We will then bisque and glaze fire your work for you to collect in February.

💫 Our final Open Access Sessions of the year are THIS WEEK 💫
If you would like to collect any work or finish off pots that are waiting for you to return, then this Monday and Friday are your last chance until January 2026! Unfortunately we won’t be running our regular Thursday evening open access session this week so be sure to get your clay fix on Monday or Friday!
The studio will be closed while we all take a well-earned break over Christmas, with our first open access session of 2026(!) taking place on Monday 5 January.
Our website will be open to buy any last minute gifts. Do check out our courses for January. We are able to make up gift vouchers for you to a custom value if required so do feel free to email us if that’s of interest.
