Originally conceived for the three signature pieces, this system can be extended into new compositions — allowing each rug to adapt to specific spatial contexts while maintaining its material and conceptual integrity. We’re honored to introduce a new collaboration with txt.ure, a Mexico City–based Design-Craft studio specializing in natural fibers, creating timeless pieces of high historical and design value. Woven by the Millán Pérez family, each rug can take up to two months to dye and weave. Every piece contains more than 25,000 hand-tied knots, resulting in a unique and unparalleled material richness. The collection explores pre-Hispanic reminiscences, connecting our references to a cultural past that remains alive in manual knowledge and in the graphic language of our past cultures. The visual research was developed in collaboration with Ich&Kar, while txt.ure and Azotea’s conversation focused primarily on building sophisticated and diverse color palettes. The result is a first collection of Barragán Rugs that integrates technique, memory, and color into bold, contemporary compositions. ~~~~ Estamos honrados de presentar nuestra nueva colaboración con txt.ure, estudio de diseño artesanal con sede en la Ciudad de México, especializado en el trabajo con fibras naturales para crear piezas atemporales de alto valor histórico y de diseño.
