롯데호텔에서 5월 15일까지 작품을 보실 수 있습니다. 근처에 오시면 편하게 들러주시면 감사하겠습니다! #Repost @woosongallery with @use.repost A curated exhibition by Hwang Wonhae (@___wonhae ) is presented at Lotte Hotel Seoul. Hwang Wonhae explores the city and the sensory experiences embedded within it, tracing subtle signs that emerge when the physical qualities of space register as events on an individual level. Focusing on the narratives formed by accumulated surface images, the artist gathers elements from multiple layers of the environments that surround the self and rearranges them within the pictorial field. Through repeated processes of building up thickness on the canvas with brushstrokes and airbrushing, then flattening the surface again, Hwang creates layered compositions within the image. These gestures reflect an attempt to perceive and capture sensations that cannot be physically touched—an approach that moves toward the essence of space itself and reveals the work as a representation of overlapping, coexisting spatial conditions. Works by Hwang Wonhae will be on view at Lotte Hotel Seoul from February 24 (Tue) through May 15 (Fri). —— Installation view: Hwang Wonhae, Lotte Hotel Seoul, 2026. Wonhae Hwang ~ Skin and Nerve In her work, @___wonhae approaches painting as a surface under tension. Layers of glass, urban fragments, and screen-like textures build images that feel both constructed and unstable as if something is always shifting just beneath. Her paintings don’t offer clarity. They hold it back, creating a space where perception slows down and begins to question itself. Skin and Nerve 6 March – 23 April 2026 📍 68projects by KORNFELD Berlin #berlin #art #exhibition #korea

Skin and Nerve Sunjeong Hwang & Wonhae Hwang Installation views from the exhibition at 68projects. In Skin and Nerve, surface is never just surface. Images unfold like sensitive membranes, where inner networks and outer layers meet. Where sensation, material, and signal pass through one another. Skin and Nerve This Friday, March 6, from 18:00-21:00. 68projects opens a new exhibition by Sunjeong Hwang and Wonhae Hwang. The exhibition grew out of their 2025 residency in Berlin. @piecedesun ~ Sunjeong Hwang works with video, sound, and algorithmic systems, tracing invisible networks data, ecology, digital particles where surface and structure blur. @___wonhae ~ Wonhae Hwang approaches the image through painting. Layers, textures, glass and urban fragments build surfaces that feel almost like skin holding tension, movement or something happening underneath. Together, their works meet at that threshold: between surface and interior, signal and sensation. Opening Friday at 68projects. Come by and experience it with us. #berlin #exhibition #korean #artist

KORNFELD Galerie at Kiaf Seoul 2025 At Kiaf Seoul 2025 (Booth B54), KORNFELD Galerie presents a dialogue of contrasts — East and West, figuration and abstraction, monochrome restraint and vibrant color. The booth brings together five distinct voices: Rao Fu (China/Germany) with dreamlike figurative painting infused with calligraphy and myth; Etsu Egami (Japan) with bold brushstrokes exploring language and cultural translation; Rusudan Khizanishvili (Georgia) with powerful figurative works rooted in Georgian narratives; and Seong Joon Hong & Wonhae Hwang (South Korea), whose layered surfaces balance transparency, reduction, and painterly energy. Seen together, these works embody a dynamic field of opposites - where abstraction meets figuration, East meets West, and singular voices combine into one contemporary panorama.
