Last night, I held you a little longer and took my time nursing you to sleep knowing youāll be turning into a different person this year.
As selfish as it sounds, this might be the hardest birthday to celebrateāas I say goodbye to this little version of you, and to a version of motherhood Iāll never get back.
But we celebrated in the best way possible: away from the city, surrounded by family and friends, enjoying perfectly grilled steak and tacos your dad made.
I couldnāt be bothered with the tiny details this time around (the cake I almost forgot to order, and the DIY balloon garland that barely held up)ā¦ and thank goodness you wonāt remember any of it either!
But perhaps one day, youāll look back at these photos and know you were so, so loved.
