Join us next Thursday, April 3rd, at Krypt from 17–20 as we celebrate the arrival of spring with the opening of Louise Bonde-Hansen’s exhibition “Adorned”.
The exhibition is temporary and will be on view for two days only — don’t miss out: Thursday, April 3rd, 17–20, and Friday, April 4th, 11–15, at Elmegade 19, 2200 Nørrebro.
With vibrant colors, organic forms, and sensuality, “Adorned” celebrates the transition of the seasons, embracing the cycles and changes that spring symbolizes. The word adorned means decorated, embellished, or enriched — ideas that resonate throughout Bonde-Hansen’s work. Through a decorative and ornamental language, she explores the balance between the artificial, the cosmetic, and the crafted, in contrast to the natural. Her work embodies both sensuality and femininity while referencing the intimate ritual of adornment.
Bonde-Hansen works with a wide range of materials, blending everyday elements — soap, loose eyeshadow, mica (pigments used in nail art), isomalt, and nylon fibers reminiscent of fur — with traditional media like plaster and ceramics. Her reliefs carry beauty and transience, reflecting both vanity and impermanence. Created with care and intention, they serve as a reminder that life is not merely to be carried out but to be sensed and experienced in all its tenderness and complexity.
Louise Bonde-Hansen (b. 1987) is a Danish artist based in Copenhagen. She holds a BFA from Goldsmiths, University of London (2014), and a Mag. art. from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2018). This exhibition features works from the past few years, some of which were previously shown in a solo exhibition at Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen.
