I discovered Buddy in a mask class facilitated by the wonderous Barbara June Dodge - I vividly remember every mask character created by my classmates. Grateful for this community of friendships. For the off & on friendships forged in each production we pour ourselves joyfully into — Indelible wondrous imprints that shape me into a more insightful thoughtful being. I am moved by this lifetime, by family I was born to, & family that shared their partners with me, & family that adopted me. And the family we continue to forge that sometimes heal the wounds that can’t be healed by blood family; whom sometimes share those very same wounds. It’s the striving for more full expression of a more full self & in the surrender with a friend while drinking sweet tea. In this maddening & terrifying time in my country & the upheaval of truth, I am profoundly surprised by the immense appreciation I have for this life. And I know it is in my interactions with you that this softening in my heart is possible.
