Announcing 'Slip' by Noah Bridger at First Site Gallery. 'Slip' is a practice-led exhibition which seeks to reveal the poetic qualities of recently discarded bluestones around RMIT University. Through the process of moulding and casting these stones into beeswax, Noah Bridger investigates the role of the artist in mediating a relationship between public spaces and people. In softening the rigidity of bluestone, Bridger reimagines how we might interact with Melbourne’s urban landscapes. On exhibition from Tuesday 19 May — Friday 12 June 11am — 5pm, Tuesday — Friday Please join us to celebrate the opening of this exhibition at First Site Gallery, 5—7pm, Wednesday 20 May. @___borboleta #RMITCulture #RMITGalleries #FirstSiteGallery Image credit: Noah Bridger, ‘Stony Town’ (detail), 2025. This Wednesday will be the last day to view 𝙉𝙤 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝, featuring works from artists: 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐡 @serfing_club 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢 @jordankoudmani 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡 @adamzfgroth6 𝐍𝐨𝐚𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 @___borboleta - 𝙉𝙤 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝 stays wary of a speculative future where everyday life gives way to predictive control. It turns to the systems structured around optimisation and efficiency, and to the fragility they expose in themselves in the pursuit of measurable objectives. From layers of redundancy to movements of precision, the works in 𝙉𝙤 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝 register how such systems take hold of individuals, processes, data and infrastructure, grounding our realities in a vulnerably unstable threshold. At the same time, they trace a way out: the capacity to bend, to transform, to redirect; to think plasticity as a form of rebellion. Curated by @cristea_zhao . Open this Saturday, Sunday and the coming Wednesday - last couple of days to view 𝙉𝙤 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝, featuring works from artists: 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐡 @serfing_club 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢 @jordankoudmani 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡 @adamzfgroth6 𝐍𝐨𝐚𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 @___borboleta 𝐍𝐨𝐚𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙣, 2025 Beeswax, bluestone, bronze 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙪𝙢 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨, 2025 Beeswax, redbrick 𝐍𝐨𝐚𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 is a sculptor. He is bothered by failure, repetitions, obsession, hunger, death, and all the sorts of work that make our world. He models and gathers and moulds and casts, doubling things in a process both industrial and alchemical. Things that wear the touch of vacancy, ambling steps, the dry burn of cement, slurry, bird scratchings, bodyheat, rotten sweat. A little foolish, perhaps mundane. - 𝙉𝙤 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝 stays wary of a speculative future where everyday life gives way to predictive control.
