For National Indigenous Languages Day, QWF is delighted to announce that the recipient of the 2026 Fresh Pages Guest Curatorship is Alexandra Apple! Alexandra is a writer and multidisciplinary storyteller based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. As the daughter of a Mohawk mother and Jewish father, her work explores identity, desire and the complexities of living between worlds. In selecting the recipient, mentor @moeclark (photo 2) said: "[Alexandra's] project resonated with me as a tastawayihk-iyiniw / in-between person since so much of what I do as a Michif 2Spirit artist is about finding ways to bridge, voice, and animate the in-between. Apple’s project is a vital offering, much needed in our current world, to highlight the tensions, relationships and transformational medicines that exist between worlds."
