We are excited to be part of the exhibition “It Feeds on Countless Hungers” by Gabriel Alonso @ggggaaaaaaaaabbbb . GAPS contributed with a text comprised of conversations the three of us had between 2019 and 2020. // While striving to be present for each other in distance, we felt we a certain disquietude, which we also find embedded within the pieces Gabriel is sharing. // If in Madrid please drop by for a long-distant hug! On Friday 4th October “anyone lived in a pretty how town” will be opening in Torino at @monomonobar as part of “House of Displacement” a festival curated by @campobase_crs . The project brings together three artists - Marcel Darienzo @marceldarienzo , Super Sohrab @museumofsohrab , Tarxun @tarxun_ - whose work cracks codes of meanings and the spontaneous nature of language. 🌾The following questions were discussed and the resulting exhibition is an attempt to present them with video and sound works: “Is there any latency that could be relaxed and released whenever the grammatical and exactitude of language is interrupted, in crisis or consciously suspended? What if an a-grammatical logic insinuates itself into our speeches, taking over our behaviors and daily living? Isn’t any subversive action the result of a relocation/displacement (of the meaning)?. - Image 1: Marcel Darienzo, THE THINGS AND THE YOU, 2017-19 (video still) Image 2: Super Sohrab, The Adventures of Super Sohrab, 2011 (video still) Image 3: Tarxun, Dis-courses, 2019 (video still) #marceldarienzo #supersohrab #tarxun #anyonelivedinaprettyhowtown #campobase #gaps #fondazionesandretto #turin #exhibition #contemporaryart

TOMORROW ⚡️COME OVER TO CELEBRATE THE 4TH ANNIVERSARY OF @chaltongallery WITH ⚡️Jeremy Deller | Drifters | Carlos Fernández-Pello | Natalia Janula & Ana Frijstein | Boby Barry | Irruprive Chora | Ben Nathan // Tombstones are not flat (2017-2019) by Fernández-Pello and Conké (2018) by Drifters together consider the topic of the future through a reflection on architectural, biological and mnemonic surroundings. These films bring attention to a splintered sense of time, making use of nostalgic documentary and tropes from science fiction. Presented together for the first time, the videos will be shown consecutively on the same flat screen taking you in the middle of their conversation - from the automatic resilience of the lichen to the surface of the urban skyline. // DRIFTERS is an art duo formed in London in 2014 and composed by Valentina Miorandi and Sandrine Nicoletta, whose background is based on public art and filmmaking. They work with videos, installations, performances and sounds that represent the social realities in which the boundary between the artist and the audience becomes porous and osmotic. // Carlos Fernández-Pello (1985) is a writer, artist and scholar based in Madrid. He is professor of visual communication at IED Madrid and works regularly as a freelance curator and exhibition designer. // 12-10 pm 96 Chalton Street, NW1 IHJ London

#Repost @tehrancuratorialsymposium ・・・ Anna Dot’s work in “But We Don’t Leave Pyramids” departs from a reflection on how a place can adapt to a certain event. Through a series of acts of building, un-building, and rebuilding across time, the meaning of the building has been updated. By interviewing people and collecting evidences, the artist has registered the changes made in this specific space along the past years. The work consists of a set of actions which took place during the event of the symposium. At the same time, the results of her research and actions will be materialized inside this room. The title of the work has been selected from parts of the interview hold with the owner of the building.
