It’s been a few days, and they’ve been all about positive reflection. Seeing our vision for the program come to life felt genuinely rewarding. We have a lot of people that made this night possible, so a massive thank you to all the amazing artists that performed: @gionberlijn @jannah__dj @leftovers.djs Thanks to @boris_berends for his light fixture behind the dj booth Thanks to @teije_debie for his amazing pictures of the night, we will definitely be sharing more over time. Tomorrow it is finally time for VESPERA and we couldn’t be more excited. With this great night ahead of us, it is the perfect time to share with you, maybe one of the most important things of the night: Our house rules. VESPERA is a place where everyone needs to be comfortable, accepted and respected to express theirselves in any way or form they want. That is why we have set up some house rules. We continue to let VESPERA shine it’s light on the wonderful artists we have lined up for on the 16th of January, and this time it’s time to highlight: Gioray ( @gionberlijn ) Gioray blends spacey electronics and retro-futurism. His sound is atmospheric yet danceable, combining deep rhythms and intricate textures that harmonize with live visuals. In his audiovisual performances, he builds an immersive experience where you begin in a dream and end up at a rave. Gioray’s musical journey started with a love for crafting mixtapes on CDs for friends. When he was 12 years old, he stumbled upon Dr. Dre’s “2001” album, sparking a deep fascination with hip-hop and electronic beats. During the Covid lockdowns, Gioray’s music took an introspective turn, drawing from ambient, breakbeat, and electronica, while incorporating analog synths and samplers to create a unique blend of alternative electronic music. On stage, Gioray combines his music performances with his passion for visuals, programming immersive experiences that invite audiences to journey through nostalgic and futuristic realms. Through careful synchronization of audio and visuals, he strives to create an atmosphere that resonates deeply with listeners. With the recent release of his first EP ‘Idem’ on the label Native Swamp curated by De Sluwe Vos, and hosting his own monthly radio show at PIP in The Hague, he’s been killing it this year. Rooted in early house, electro, acid, and techno, her sound is raw, distinctive, and never predictable. With a love for gritty textures and unconventional grooves, she blends stripped-down rhythms with punchy basslines and sharp breaks, always pushing the energy in unexpected directions. Drawing inspiration from experimental electronics and the machine-driven pulse of the west coast, jannah delivers sets that feel both timeless and forward-thinking, built for dancers who like it deep, dirty, and real.
