She's an incredible artist showing the world the reality of living under a brutal occupation and genocide, resisting through it and using art as a means to do so. She is the oldest of six sisters. Yesterday, April 19, marked the 90th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Arab Revolt that started in 1936 against British and Zionist forces.

Due to the little representation of Islamic resistance as a driving anti-imperialist factor in the West, Collective Climb is hosting a political education seminar exploring the intersection of Islam and revolution. From the Advent of Islam to the modern Axis of Resistance, Rumi and Andres will trace the ideological roots of anti-imperialist struggle, with grounding our journey in the life and transformation of Malcolm X. Together, we’ll examine how Islamic thought has fueled resistance movements across the world, with a closer look at Iran’s pivotal role in shaping the spirit of revolution across the global south. This April 9 also marked the 90th revolutionary birthday of iconic writer, artist and freedom fighter, Ghassan Kanafani.

April 9th marked 41 years since the martyrdom of Sana’a Youssef Mehaidli also known as “The Bride Of The South”. She died during a martyrdom operation against Zionist settler soldiers in the South of Lebanon at the age of 16.
