3/14–17, I stayed at Canadian Academy KOBE as a resident artist with
@miiikity , where we led dance and theater workshops and created a piece together with the students.
Most of the students had little experience with contemporary dance, and at first their bodies felt a bit unfamiliar with the movement. But they approached the process with honesty and openness, and it was beautiful to witness how they gradually transformed within such a limited time.
The piece we created was
“Enkan: Continuum 0/ 1”
In 0, we explored the atmosphere of winter and a sense of solitude.
In 1, we focused on connection, encounters, and the continuous flow of life.
I also experimented with plastic as a material, exploring the relationship between covering and revealing within the space.
I hope the students will carry with them the ability to be moved by something beautiful, and the courage to imagine.
I hope we will dance together again.
And I will keep dancing. ----------

神戸のCanadian Academyにて、レジデンスアーティストとして滞在し、ダンスやシアターのワークショップ、そして作品制作を行いました。
コンテンポラリーダンスにほとんど触れたことのない生徒さんたちは、最初こそ少しぎこちなさもありましたが、まっすぐな感性で向き合い、限られた時間の中でめきめきと変化していく姿がとても印象的でした。最終日には、それぞれの身体からとても美しい景色が立ち上がっていました…🌱✨
今回発表した作品は
『円環: Continuum 0 / 1』
当初私とみきちゃんは別作品を上演する予定でしたが、作品の組み立てにあたり「円環」という言葉が浮かび、自身もその流れの一部として作品に関わることにしました。
出会いと別れの中で生まれる繋がりや、巡っていく生命の儚さと強さ、そして希望をテーマに出来たらとダンス講師であるヤベイ先生と決めました。
また、滞在中に以前から試してみたかったプラスチックの演出のために装置をみきちゃんと手作りして、その操演で生徒作品の一部になりました。
多感な時期にある彼女たちが、美しいものに心を動かすことや夢を見ることの尊さを大切にしてくれたらなと願いを込めて。
また一緒に踊れますように🌸🌱🍂❄️
私も踊り続けます。
