Part of CONTACT Photography Festival (

@99.frames ).
“Through a Tinted Frame” brings together stills exploring the emotions evoked by colour and light in photography. Colour holds the magic ability to paint layered depth to an image’s narrative, adding a weight that lingers beyond the visible subject.
In these works, the artists invite you to see how hues shape memory, tension, warmth, and distance. Each image considers colour not as decoration, but as atmosphere and insight.
How do the tints in a frame reveal the relationship depicted between its subjects, and between the photographer and their subject? How does colour guide perception and deepen the emotional register of a moment? We invite you to contemplate these questions as you form your own relationships between your body and emotions in interaction with this exhibition’s works.
